This next year I plan to add a few more trees to my collection, too. At least one apple variety I've had my eye on, possibly a greengage plum, maybe some Japanese plums (these are the typical crunchy, juicy plums you find at the store)--I had a couple but they both died on me last year. I might also try my hand at grafting. I have a peach rootstock I think I'll try to turn into a multi-graft tree if I can.

If Noctis wasn't experimenting with him, though, he would likely be experimenting somewhere else, and that's about the only comforting thought Ignis has on the matter.

The very best reviews mention what the reader is reacting to--the line, the image, the twist, the connection.  Even better are when there’s a bunch of those details.  Those moments of reaction reinforce the actual story instead of the memory of writing it, and in a way they redeem it in my brain as something separate I can enjoy.

I don’t hate Tony Stark, but I feel like people really love glossing over his flaws because he’s a rich white dude. Same with Loki, who is the very embodiment of “Cool motive, still murder.” 

I just got well and truly sick of white boys fucking.  I wanted dicks and representation.

2. Will you participate in any fandom exchanges or fic challenges, etc? No. Challenges and exchanges are a great idea, in theory, but they go against my Creative Process: starting something with the best intentions, getting distracted by something else, cheerfully forgetting the first idea for several weeks, and then remembering it when I get sidetracked again. I love the whooshing sound the deadline makes as it goes by, but I don't adhere to it. 6. Which yet-to-be-started fic is first on your list?So, on LiveJournal about a thousand years ago, there was this one fic that was based on an album - one drabble for every song. I can't remember the fandom or the album but the style appealed to me. I always have music on while I'm writing. Most of my fics were in some way inspired by music. At the top of my list is a Stranger Things fic, Hopper/Joyce, based around The '59 Sound by the Gaslight Anthem. It grabbed me from the first song (I saw dead lights last night in a dream about my first wife / Everybody leaves and I expect as much from you / I saw dead lights last night in a dream about my old life / Everybody leaves, so why, why wouldn't you?) and I've been listening to the album on repeat for a few days. Also jockeying for first place is a Northern Exposure fic based on the film A Matter of Life and Death, where Maggie is the pilot who cheats death and Joel is the Kim Hunter role. It seems like I'm the only person in the fandom so I can do whatever I want.

Obviously I have no objection to sex pollen, as I’ve written it before. :) If I was gonna write it again, I’d keep going with Thor Ragnarok. You can’t tell me the orgyship doesn’t have some sex pollen censers hanging in a closet somewhere. One gets knocked over during a Leaders of Asgard Strategy Mission, Valkyrie and Loki both recognize it instantly, Thor and Bruce are like ‘what’, Heimdall locks the room down before the smoke spreads. And then it’s this scene where Valkyrie casually explains that they’re all about to bone and Thor goes red as a beet and Loki attempts to be equally casual and crass but he can’t actually look directly at Thor, and Heimdall gives this resigned sigh and starts interrogating Bruce about exactly how likely it is that he’s going to lose control and turn into the Hulk at some point during the proceedings, and Bruce starts out attempting to say that he’s basically a one on the kinsey scale and also this is a terrible idea and would someone please just knock him out, only the sex pollen smoke starts taking effect and Heimdall is right there looking an awful lot like Idris Elba, and he loses the thread of his sentence and just sort of looks at him longingly. Valkyrie tosses Heimdall some fuzzy handcuffs that she finds in a drawer. In the meantime, Loki is blaming Thor for knocking the censer over in the first place, and Thor is verbally working out the reality that Loki absolutely fucked his way up to the top of the Sakaar foodchain, and both of them are secretly expecting to be sleeping with Valkyrie, only Valkyrie has also sensibly gravitated towards the man who looks like Idris Elba. It’s not the kind of sex pollen where you lose your head. It’s the kind of sex pollen where you need to fuck, which means that Thor and Loki are perfectly aware that they’re brothers and they’re probably wrecking the first tentative peace between them in years while they’re ripping each other’s clothes off, but it doesn’t really matter. It turns into a predictable Sakaarian orgy shortly after that, all five of them involved at once, but not before Thor kisses Loki very gently on the forehead and they both sort of want to die about it.
