With the rise in AI, I am finding myself reflecting more on the world of the Atevi as created by C.J. Cherryh.
One of the dearly held values of the Atevi, across Ateva, was their profound respect for unique and handcrafted items.
Whether the item is a set of decorative tiles that have become a National Treasure or a well tailored coat, or even just a well penned letter to an associate.
It's not just Aesthetic(tm) for Profit.
Atevi do not love as humans experience the emotion, but, they do care. And they care greatly.
Yes, they are fictional people in a fictional universe.
The human capacity to imagine is endless. We constantly ask 'What if..."
