A lump formed in Will’s throat as his gaze settled on Elijah Pan. It was harder to look away at this point, and wow - why hadn’t he ever paid him much attention before? He supposed his brain being highly consumed by Blake for most of his consciously-gay life might have something to do with it, but since his best friend had come out and was sending all calls to Neverland boys to take shots off his abs, it felt like there was even less reason to hold onto such a fruitless crush. Pining over Blake was hard and unfair to both of them and so he’d resolved to get over it. He just thought it would take him a while, years even, of dedicated thought and journaling and therapy maybe, even - instead it had just taken one look at this other boy. Elijah was pretty in such a distracting way that it made Will put down the cheesecake that he’d only eaten to punish his lactose-intolerant self with and headed over, one foot in front of the other, while the rest of him divulged into a panic. He’d never tried hitting on a boy before, he’d never tried hitting on anybody, really! He was closeted and quiet and spent too much time reading instead of having fun and what on earth did he have to offer anybody? Still, he got closer until he sat down besides the other boy, his heart pumping loudly in his chest as he worked up the nerve to say something, anything. “Hi. I’m Will. I, um, thought about coming over here and comparing you to a summer’s day, but you must get that all the time, right? Besides, as far as old playwrights go, there are less pretentious ones to paraphrase. I’m sorry, that was a long and awkward way to say hi. Hi. Are you, um, here with anyone?”
