A nod, followed by a bright smile, lit up the blondes face upon hearing Sting’s words. She had to agree with his practice, looking ahead to the future rather than dwelling in the past would always be a good thing in her eyes. In order to move forward, one couldn’t lock themselves in their memories, they couldn’t live a life full of fear that history might repeat itself, no they just had to keep pushing forward until something good came their way – no matter how many speed bumps they hit on the way.

Sipping her drink from where she sat across from him, she thought about her own past and all the pain it held and hummed slightly, no matter how much time passed it would probably always hurt but something she did know now was that just because you looked towards the future didn’t mean she couldn’t look back. Sometimes it actually helped, in her case, it helped more than she’d care to admit.

“Just as long as you don’t forget the lessons of the past while you’re at it, there’s not much point in moving forward if you do.” The words were spoken more to be heard than directed purely at Sting, she wasn’t in a position to lecture him but she never was one to just keep her thoughts to herself.

Out of all the members of Sabertooth, Sting was perhaps one of the least bitter about their defeat at the hands of Fairy Tail. Though he certainly didn’t love them to any high degree, the dragon slayer wasn’t one to allow his angst to overwhelm him and derail a perfectly good and harmless conversation. This was a small sign of the slowly-developing maturity hidden behind the childish persona he so often chose to flaunt.

Broad, muscular shoulders rolled almost apathetically. The past wasn’t his favourite topic of conversation, be it recent or distant. His feelings were something he was unsure of, and his ability to express them hung in an even more precarious balance, so he would simply go along with what she had to say and pretend it had had no impact on him at all.
