ā Are you sure you want to spend another night alone?ā @aspotlight -- Mary Jane, (RE: Peter)
He can't remember the last time he's really wanted anything, for himself that is. any past desires have been drowned out by the rage, the unrelenting red that stains his vision. he knows he's gone too far. & still, he keeps going. A CREATURE OF THE NIGHT, HE LIES IN SHADOW -- HUNTING HIS PREY. a far cry from the friendly neighborhood spider-man he once was. ā I'm not too sure of anything anymore. ā despite his dedication to vengeance, to a merciless justice, there is still doubt. still the memory of Aunt May who only wanted him to do better, to be better. WHAT WOULD SHE THINK OF YOU NOW, KILLER? giving in to the darkness, perched in alleyways as he follows any loose threads back to that night -- ready to tear his way through any obstacles in his path.
ā What I do know is wherever I go, bad things tend to follow. ā the wretched curse of existence ā not everyone's, but surely his. doomed to a life of solitude, the need to remain at arm's length.
YET HE FINDS HIMSELF HELPLESSLY DRAWN INTO HER ORBIT, circling the dream of a past life & picking at the carcass of it -- a desperate vulture. ā So you should stay away. ā the truth he can't ignore, he's become the danger.
she knows it too, must sense the way shadows cling to his skin. an utter rejection of the light. his world has been rid of it, all warmth stripped from his surroundings as he gave himself over to the night, THE DARK. & he's not the only one that lurks, surrounded by others who've also turned their back to the sun. still, he keeps to himself. kept sane by memories of a past life.
