Favorite fluffy cold/flu scenarios?
I am an ABSOLUTE SLUT for sickies who are so out of it and unable to do anything but collapse, essentially. So hereās some of my fave stuff involving that. (More tropes than scenarios tbh, but whatever.)
ć¼sickie leaning their head on their caretakerās shoulder
ć¼head in lap is also Very Good
ć¼sickie falling asleep on the caretaker, especially in public, and the caretaker just smiling fondly at the sight
ć¼the little touches a caretaker gives to the sickie: hand rubbing wide circles on the sickieās back through a harsh coughing fit, brushing sweaty bangs off a fevered forehead, caretaker cupping the sickieās cheek (bonus points for the sickie leaning into the touch), oh man so many
ć¼chills are the fucking cutest. Caretaker just piling on the blankets, offering to run out and grab more because the closet is empty, sickie insisting from their nest that itās okay and theyāre fine, even as they continue to shiver
ć¼sleep intimacy in general gives me butterflies š
ć¼I love the noises of discomfort. Little whines/moans/whimpers etc when sleeping (hello nightmares!), an āowā after a rough coughing fit or sneeze, a groan as the sickie flops on the bed, closes their eyes and mutters āI hate being sick.ā
Aahh I know I have more somewhere in my brain, but these will have to do for now!
imagine viktor alone at home and suddenly having an asthma attack - he wheezes and coughs and it feels like people are clawing at his lungs and he can't breathe and the inhaler is just a few inches away but he can't reach it and he really needs it but there's no one at home except makkachin
Troubled breathing? šš
This is such a good scenario! I may have some ideas...
Glad you're active again! š
Aw thank you so much! I am too!
not a prompt, but something to think about: Victor drowning. And he's struggling to fight the water, thrashing about and fighting to stay conscious, but he's being pulled deeper and deeper and as he reaches out a hand out to nobody in particular, aiming towards the surface, his eyes start to flutter shut, and he goes limp as the water takes him.
bonus: Mere seconds later a hand suddenly grabs him--Yuuri-- who caries him back to the surface. He's still unconscious, limp against Yuuri's shoulder against the crashing waves, but they manage to get to shore. Yuuri is determined, not an ounce of panic in him, but instead he's driven by fear as he performs mouth to mouth on Victor.
And he shouts in frustration as he shakes Victor's chest-- "BREATHE!"-- he yells, and after another mouth to mouth, Victor does. He's coughing out seawater and sees beatiful brown eyes before him as he squints against the sky, confused. "Yuuri?" he asks, and relief washes over Yuuri who smiles as he collapses onto the sand, exhausted.
HOT DAMN What a lovely scenario to find in my inbox! Good stuff!

I have an actual question... have you ever passed out? I never have and so I have no idea what it feels like o_O
A handful of times, yes. I was diagnosed with low blood pressure a while back so passing out was definitely a thing that happened. Getting blood drawn and even getting vaccines would make me incredibly dizzy so I have to get those done laying down to be safe, though itās gottenĀ much better now that Iām taking iron and other supplements.
Iām sure if you google what it feels like to faint/lose consciousness you can find a bunch of answers. For the few times it happened to me, I felt super tired and then the next moment I woke up on the floor. No time to prepare at all, noĀ āI feel like Iām gonna pass out,ā it just happened.
hello, are you takimg prompts? can I request for a Victor fighting sedation? I read your tags on the whump prompt and im yelling ahhzhahahahsjsjsjjsjsjaja
THIS KILLED ME DEAD THANKS HERE YA GO
ļ½ļ½ļ½
āPlease, you need to calm down.ā
Victor is anything but calm. Heās panicking, the heart rate monitor he is hooked up to beeping loud and insistent in a way that only aggravates the throbbing in his head. Heās being held down by a woman in a doctorās uniform, a couple of other people are surrounding Victor, ready to move into action when given the word. How the hell is he supposed to stay calm like this?!
He has no idea whatās going on, or what happened. All he knows is he woke up with no memory of how he got hereć¼wherever here even isć¼ and now he is terrified and needs to get out. Needs to escape from this bed and run out the doors. Heās not too sure what heāll do from there, but he can figure that out later. For now, the only thing on his mind is the desperate need to escape.
He thrashes against the arms holding him down, kicking out his legs for good measure, but all that does is cause pain to flare up. Victor squeezes his eyes shut and moans. Voices sound all around him, thereās too much sound, far too much for Victorās overloaded and panicking brain to construe. Through the disorienting haze, Victor hears someone say, āYou have to stand back.ā
Everything feels like too much. The smell of antiseptics is sharp and nauseating. The lights above him are too bright, even with his eyes squeezed shut. The throbbing in his head is excruciating, the confusion and fear is overwhelming. āStopā¦ā Victor manages to get out past a tight and dry throat. āPleaseā¦ā
āHold him down,ā that same voice from before orders, before more armsć¼as firm as the words commandedć¼pin him down so he is unable to move.
āNo,ā Victor weakly tries to protest. He opens his eyes to try and plead with woman there, his panic only increasing further at the sight of a long, slender needle held in her gloved hand. His eyes remain fixed on it, unable to tear his gaze away. His pulse pounds in his ears, and he tries futilely once again to free himself, but heās only held down tighter.
Fingers are locked around his wrists, like cuffs pinning him to a table to be tortured. More weight is pressed on his legs, though less so on the one he can now distantly tell is injured. A palm is splayed over Victorās chest, and heās sure they can feel the rapid thump of his heart as it threatens to beat out of his chest. They can certainly hear it too, broadcasted by the equipment next to his bed.
The woman holding the needle moves, doing something with it that Victor cannot see. And then, after a long momentć¼filled only with the rapid rise and fall of Victorās chestć¼the arms that are relentlessly pinning him to the bed ease. Victor nearly cries in relief. He can move again, put up a fight against these people, whoever they even are.
He tries to move his arms. Though they are no longer being pinned, they feel unusually weighed down. Sluggish, out of his control.
Victor blinks slowly. āWhaā¦?ā
His brain quickly becomes shrouded in a heavy fog. Heās no longer consumed by panic, though it lingers at the edges of his consciousness as he struggles to understand why he no longer possesses his strength. He tries to lift his head, but moving only causes the room to spin. He lets himself weakly fall back against the pillow.
āThere you go,ā a voice gently soothes. āSleep.ā
Victor doesnāt want to sleep. He still doesnāt know where he is, or how he ended up here, or why his head is throbbing and his leg feels like it got run over by a truck. He doesnāt know what awaits him in the darkness thatās closing in on him with every passing second, and it terrifies him. He doesnāt know what will await him on the other side of it, the next time he regains consciousness.
He tries to do somethingć¼anythingć¼to fight back, but even moving his fingers requires a tremendous amount of effort. His eyelids feel like they weigh a tonne, but he refuses to close them. He looks around the room, desperately searching for an exit. He has to get out of here. He has toć¼
āItās okay,ā a voice soothes, and itās a different voice this time. One that Victor recognizes in an instant. He didnāt even notice he was in the room, but now heās leaning over Victorās bed. A hand comes up to caress his cheek, his soft brown eyes giving away the worry masked by his sweet but strained smile.
āYuuriā¦ā Victor gets out past slow-moving lips, but Yuuri only shushes him.
āDonāt talk, just rest,ā Yuuri whispers, still stroking Victorās cheek. āItās okay,ā he says again, and Victor lets himself believe it. If Yuuri is here, then Victor knows heās safe. Through the gentleness of his voice, the warmth of his touch, Victor feels himself falling deeper and deeper. The darkness doesnāt seem so scary anymore. In fact, it seems inviting. The panic recedes, his breaths even out, the rhythmic beep of the heart rate monitor slows to its normal pace. His eyelids droop, then at last slip shut.
The last thing he registers before finally succumbing to unconsciousness is a feather-light kiss on his cheek, a warm hand in his own, and Yuuriās promise that heāll be there when Victor wakes up.
Hello! I hope this is not rude of me to ask but do you have a list of your current wips? I'm just really curious, no pressure at all!
Not rude at all!! If anything itās flattering! The thought that I have people interested in my writing is just!!! ā¤ā¤ā¤
Iāll put them under the cut because I have quite a handful ^-^;;
