Stay lost in Myst!
I personally really liked revelations. I admit that the myst feel was different but I liked it because it was the most realistic one. I also liked going through the minds and worlds of Sirrus and Achenar, Exile and Riven are my favorite though
Iāve seriously been stuck on that colour cloud part in Dream for over a week now. Itās a pretty solid motivation-killer, especially given the fact that you can never see all of the clouds at once so you just canāt plan a good way to do it, 80% of it is just getting fucking lucky, and it literally has zero connection to anything (comparatively to most of the other puzzles at least being things that the brothers were supposed to have built). Ubi Soft just tossed it in there.
The Mad Max series actually makes a great analogy for the Myst series if you think about it.

Beyond Thunderdome/Exile - Yeah, this is still pretty damn sweet

(Okay, so that analogy actually doesnāt work unless you exclude End of Ages and Uru entirely (although Iām not bothering to redo it, ācause I might as well exclude them, I havenāt played them)āand also you have to assume the new Mad Max movie is gonna suck ācause itās not out yet to judge, so maybe it wonāt be as needless as Revelation seems to be. Hopefully.)

Hey thanks! I also grew up with Myst (in case thatās not obvious) and I still love to roam around Riven, especially since Cyan ported it to iOS (Riven in my pocket, 24/7? Absolutely irreplaceable).
Since starting this blog, though, I actually started playing Revelation for the first time, too, and when I started, I was thinking I might post journal entries as I played, but goddamn, this one is just so badā¦ Much worse than I thought itād be. I might do a review post or something once Iām done, that may be interesting, but journal entries would just be, āFuck. This is both dumb, and stunningly awkward to control for literally zero reason. Why does this amulet even exist, if you wanna do voice-overs, just do it, who the shit has ever said they wished they could play a game that involved staring at the ground and listening to audio clips. WHAT THE FUCK ARE PROTECTORS AND IF THEY DO PROTECT SHIT, WHAT MAKES SERENIA SO SPECIAL IT GETS LIKE 30 OF THEM WHILE RIVEN HAD, HMM, LET ME SEE, ZERO.ā

hi! sorry for the probably stupid question but im not very tech savvy and i was wondering how you got your linking book links sidebar because its amazing!! and i want to do the same thing (if thats ok!) also, this is my fav myst blog and it makes me happy to see yall on my dash everyday :)
Hey, thanks, thatās not a stupid question at all!
First, the bookshelf on the sidebar (which quietly gained 4 new books the other day, btw!) wouldnāt be possible at all without the sprites of the shelves and books themselves, and they were all made by AMCAlmaron, specifically for other Myst fans to make their own bookshelves with! All I really did was play a long and tedious game of copy-and-paste shuffleboard to adjust the size of the shelves and fill them with books. The final step was to map the links I needed to specific co-ordinates on the image, as opposed to just linking the image itself, which is really best explained by simply trying it out yourself (read: my explanation would probably suck, haha), so hereās a good place to start.

I admit it, I suck hard at math to begin with, and then thereās the Dāni translation, plus no oneās put translations online of higher numbers than 24 as far as I could find, so I put the 5 beside the 1 and called it a day.
Iām smart at other things, just not number things! I mean really, all I did was start a Myst blog to have a good time and Iām honestly feeling so attacked right now.
