Thomas and Patton both stay put, and Patton elbows Thomas, eliciting a yelp from Thomas before he realizes what Patton did. In response, Thomas juts his own elbow into Patton’s side to which Patton starts elbows him again in response until Logan turns around, which freezes Patton in the process of doing it.

Logan, seeing this, raises an eyebrow at Patton to which Patton retracts it sheepishly. Once both Logan and Dee are done, they come back once again and sit back where they were and sit looking at Thomas for second until Thomas realizes they’re waiting for him to speak.

“Oh, I forgot what we were doing. Uh, you guys already know my name and where I live, but I might as well formally introduce myself. Greetings, I am King (well, former King at the moment) Thomas of Rótaldë. I am 31 years of age and have ventured through many lands and cities in the name of my kingdom to sow continued prosperity between the people of this land.”

Patton looks at Thomas with awe as he makes this mini speech, entranced by Thomas’s voice and the ease Thomas slips into as he describes himself. Dee rolls his eyes at the dramatics, clearly over the faux tension Thomas is building with the speech. Logan is the least reactive, though his expression holds something like pride.

“I was overthrown by a powerful witch that usurped me through force, causing me to have to flee my own kingdom to escape her newfound power over the kingdom as she no doubt seeks my suffering and death at escaping.”

Patton opens his mouth to protest, but instead just cries out in horror at the reality of what Thomas went through, as he hadn’t thought about it much. Thomas looks over at Patton when he does and stretches out a hand to grab Patton’s to comfort him. 

Dee looks intrigued and curious at the info, as he only knew that Thomas had been overthrown, but not their identity.

“Did you know who she was?” Dee half interrupted Thomas as Thomas opened his mouth to continue.

Thomas shakes his head. “No clue, but what I saw of her, she was powerful. She was at least 7-8′ tall and had horns, though she looked to humanlike to be a tiefling. I don’t really know even exactly what she was.”

Dee’s faux exasperated expression drops as Thomas is describing her and you see his eyes widen, but he doesn’t say anything. No one else notices as they’re focused on Thomas. Dee subconsciously grips at a portion of his cloak on his chest as he cools his features back into a neutral expression. 

As if he didn’t know exactly who Thomas is talking about.
