She smiled at me, I smiled back
This is my very first story! Itās quite short and goes for at least 4000+ words.
I had taken inspiration from a promptĀ I found:
"Your hair, features and skin are gradually disappearing. What do you see when you look in the mirror?"
I took this prompt and turned the story into something else completely! I really like what I did with the whole plot, and I hope to improve my writing more and more!
Hope you enjoy it!

She smiled at me, I smiled back
Chapter Three:
I donāt know when I started running, but I reached the building I lived in (right next to my momās) and hurriedly ran up the stairs and into my studio flat. I threw my bag somewhere and took my phone out. I tried finding out what this could mean, what these cracks on my arm meant and what I could do about.
All of a sudden, Julieās notebook came into my mind. She had a diagram, where she had drawn small circles, and inside them, like a timeline, were cracks, going from light to dark to just breaking in.
I was then filled with both fear and hope. Julie might know what to do.
I called her number, waiting for her to pick up anxiously.
Now, you may be wondering why I didnāt call the ambulance as yet or called a doctor.
Look, if I could do that without being immediately judged, I would do it. But, Iād rather not embarrass myself in front of a bunch of doctors even if my condition is quite weird and concerning. The doctors of this world are quite conservative, who have major judgment issues. Iāve always been judged by doctors if Iāve never answered ācorrectlyā when theyāve asked me questions like āWhat would you do in āxā situation?ā or āWhat exactly is your tolerance for āxā? So I resort to natural solutions. Right now, the natural solution is calling Julie.
āHello?ā Julie asked.
āJulie! Hi! Uh, well, somethingās wrong with me. I got these cracks on my hand, and it feels like its glass, and Iām really scared. I saw these drawings on your book which made me think youād be able to help me so here I am, asking you. But if you donāt want to I totally get it like-ā
ā-Whoa! Whoa! Whoa! Hold up! What do you mean by cracks on your hand? When did this happen?ā she interrupted me. Wisely stopping my anxious rant of apologies. āAlso, where do you live? Let me come see you.ā
āI live in the building next to that Arabilla building, come to 203,ā I took a deep breath. āSo, I had first felt a part of my skin go dry like somehow all air or moisture had been sucked out. This happened when I was on the way home, in the metro. Then I had touched it, wondering what it was, but then it felt like glass! And then I pulled away cause I didnāt want to break my handā¦I guess. I donāt know whatās going on, do you?ā Fear was climbing up my body. I felt myself go cold, and then I tried to quickly calm myself down. I thought that if I made myself go cold anymore, the cracks would spread faster.
Turns out, I was right. The cracks on my arm had already spread over my forearm, feeling emptier by the minute. Fear was clutching at my heart now.
Apparently, confusion, mixed with anxiety, and fear for your life isnāt the best combo for little olā me.
I could hear Julieās huffs as she ran out of her house. We had both realized that we lived quite close to each other during our conversation. She lived at least 5 minutes away from my home.
āWell, right now, I can only think of one thing thatās happening to you, and itās very rare,ā she said, emphasizing on the āveryā. āYouāre experiencing a situation where you find out who you are as a person, but physically.ā
āWhat?ā
āItās gonna tell you who you are, but in a really artistic way! Youāre going through some weird shit! Youāll see what I mean later. Iām getting close, stay calm!ā she cut the call.
āOkay. Yeah, I can do that.ā I said to myself.
No, I cannot do that.
This is weird. Though not odd, Iāve read enough of mythology to know that this was some extra special magical stuff back-in-the-day.Ā
By back-in-the-day, I mean āB.Cā back-in-the-day. Like, Gods would bless most people to have the ability to know how to describe themselves in words. But some wouldnāt. Thatās basically the entire story in short.
People like me werenāt mentioned much in history. Or maybe our history was erased. Maybe it was never even documented. Who knows? I sure as hell donāt.
Stay calm you idiot! Listen to Julie!
Right. Of course.Ā

Why do we need Feminism?
First of all, What is feminism? Feminism was first introduced in the 1960s. First wave feminists focused on legal inequalities and women's suffrage. Second-wave feminists (1960s - 1080s) broadened the debate to include cultural inequalities, gender norms and the role of women in society. Third wave feminists emerged in the mid-1990s, this was when feminists battled obstacles like the racist, sexist and classist symbols. Fourth wave feminists emerged around 2012, to focus on justice for women and opposition against sexual assault and violence against women. Weāre in the fourth wave of feminism right now. Other than sexual assault and so on, feminism has broadened the term āfeministsā as people who support all women. This includes sex workers, transwomen, the LGBTQ+ community and women of different races and religions.
Fourth wave feminists want to finish the job. Since our goals have become more diverse, weāve seen movements for queer rights, ending gender stereotypes and continuing the fight for sexual autonomy. We hope that this wave of feminism will be the last in feminist history. We hope to achieve equality for all and justice for all. My creating movements such as the #MeToo movement and the #YesAllWomen movement, we spread awareness on harassment at school, work, home and public spaces. This means we dive deep into the media and social consciousness. We also face the reality of forced and child marriages. Each year, they marry 12 million girls off before the age of 18. It deprives these girls of education, health, safety, and human rights. We need to fix that by donating to platforms like āWomens WorldWide Webā and āGlobal Givingā. We move a step closer to helping girls in countries like Ghana, India, Pakistan, Morocco, Senegal and many more. There are also many other things feminism does, and one of them is opposing misandry and acknowledge men who fight for equality. We help one and other recognize that inequality is an issue for all genders and needs to be resolved by working together. Fourth wave feminism also stands against body shaming, slut shaming or any other shaming. Everyone is entitled to feel confident and comfortable in their body no matter their appearances nor sizes. Along with that, fourth wave feminism stands for being pro-choice. Which doesnāt mean weāre anti-life, it means āMy body, My rulesā. We advocate for proper sex education in schools (heterosexual and homosexual sex ed.), abortion rights and 100% control over our own bodies. These are the main factors of the fourth wave of feminism and why itās important. We also need to end the spread of bigotry and negativity to future generations (and ourselves!) and help make the world a more positive, interesting and better place.
Thus, we conclude that the world isnāt yet equal for all women, men and others. We realize that feminism has grown into a powerful force that stands for equality and justice for all. With that, I say that Iām proud to be a feminist, and when we reach peak equality for all, weāll realize that we never have been asking to be treated like royalty, only to be treated as humans. Fighting for women's rights means fighting for human rights, and hopefully, the fight will end soon with all humans living as humans were meant to be - free.

Don't you just love it when your friends are so,,,, supportive? I love them so much. Just the other day I was drawing on my friends Ipad since I wanted to try out using ProCreate. From the time I reached the middle of my drawing to the end, my friends were gushing about how well I could draw (they were obviously exaggerating, but it was cute). By the time I was done, I was feeling more happier about my art, only because my friends loved it.Ā
I can be suchĀ a perfectionist sometimes, and usually, it brings me to hate my art and howĀ much time I take to learn it. But support and love like that is alwaysĀ the best cure. It left me feeling warm and happy most of the day, and honestly, I love knowing that Iāve got such lovely friends.
Love your friends. Support them. Love them. Show them that you care.
She smiled at me, I smiled back
So it's done!!!
This was the first story I have ever written, and I loved writing it! Sure, I do have doubts about ways I could've handled the plot and characters, and I was constantly second-guessing myself, but I finally managed to pull my shit together and finish this story.
When I was writing this story I wanted to understand how it was writing a parallel to our world and what is happening in it. The fear my protagonist faces in this story and how they don't want to tell their parent about something that is a part of themselves was (hopefully) a clear parallel to people a part of the LGBTQIA+ community and the fear they face in their daily lives.
I believe that this story was a good start to practising my writing. I do want to become some sort of author in the future (I have SO many ideas!!!! But I can't write!!!) And I really hope to keep writing for a long time!
I kinda wished this story was like a backstory for two peeps who are in love and decide to have a revolution or something....y'know? But I think it was best to stop where I did.
