In my opinion that is just the theoretical approach to the term itself and we all roughly have a sense of what attention is.My question is: how to get it?

Why is it a scarce resource? Simply put - we have a physiological limitations in our ability to process information. We cannot do all at once.

Have you seen those tests, where people have to count the white balls that appear on the screen? At the end of the video they are asked if they saw a waving bear that walked by.

The goal keeper has to have his attention on the hockey puck. The F1 driver has to be focused on the road, but what about the situation when we choose what to focus on in our daily lives? 

It probably comes from our interests, social circle, thoughts, environment and everything that we as human beings can sense.

What gets my attention? My interest in the subject and the way that it is presented. So I guess there are 2 sides to this question.

If I am currently thinking on a specific matter I want to solve I am more likely to notice the things related to that. The other time when a completely unexpected thing gets my attention is when it has something that raises an interest (unknown), is rare, is done in an admirable, interesting way, arouses emotion or has other people’s attention (social approval).

Uzmanība

Manuprāt, tas ir teorētisks apgalvojums un mums visiem ir kaut neliela sajēga par to, kas ir uzmanība. Mans jautājums: kā to iegūt?

Kāpēc tas ir ierobežots resurss? Atbilde: mūs fizioloģiskās īpašības ir ierobežotas, līdz ar to arī spēja apstrādāt informāciju. Mēs nevaram pievērst uzmanību visam vienlaicīgi.

Vai esat redzējuši tos testus, kur respondentiem tiek lūgts saskaitīt baltās bumbas, kas parādās video? Video beigās viņiem pajautā, vai redzējuši lāci, kas paiet garām un vēl pamāj.

Hokeja vārtusargam jāpievērš uzmanība ripai, savukārt F1 braucējam jāpievērš nedalīta uzmanība ceļam.  Kā tad ir tad, kad mēs paši izvēlamies kam ikdienā pievērst uzmanību?

To visticamāk ietkmē mūsu intereses, sociālais loks, domas, vide un viss, ko mēs kā cilvēki uztveram ar savām maņām.

Kas piesaista manu uzmanību? Mana interese konkrētā jomā un veids kā tā tiek prezentēta, tātad šīs droši vien ir monētas divas puses, ja vien nav kāda trešā.
