The farming town of Apla was notable only, perhaps, for the vast depression in its claypan soil: a crescent which, when viewed from high above, was said to evoke the belly of a great beast in repose. The villagers whispered that the valley had been left behind by one of the terrible dragons felled by the Geda Astami in the time of conquest. There was no written record to corroborate such a claim, only the oral tradition of the local grandmothers.

A very base concept/Picrew for another TWST OC of mine, twisted from Xion from Kingdom Hearts! Her name is Eligia Shiono, but she goes by Leja.

She's kinda linked to Gwinnie's backstory a little, in the sense of her having been created by the organisation mentioned in it, The Thirteen. Her rough background is that she was created in a fashion not dissimilar to Ortho, but with more magic than tech, and as a copy of Nyxus, a member of the Thirteen who jumped ship. Shockingly, she eventually jumped ship and met Nyxus, shifting her own appearance to reflect her new identity. (Yes, this is to allude to the Xion being trans-HC because that is superior-)

Anyway! I'm still toying with what I want her Unique Magic to be. Still, I'm leaning on the idea of her having basically been made to absorb magic from others, kinda to reference how Xion absorbs strength from Roxas during Days. She relies on technology at the moment in order to halt its effects, and she's in Ignihyde as a result (and to tie into the stuff with Ortho because they're both "artificial" beings-)

Has any scholar of the modern age ever attempted a comprehensive cataloguing of all those peoples and cultures lost to the thorough sweep of the Geda? The task may prove impossible, even assisted as we are by the midwives of the new gods; yet there is some comfort in speaking the names of the ones who survived. The many tribes collectively called Cenocant by their southern enemies, who retreated into the mountains and refused to present a fixed target; the people of the Oikon cities, who formed an alliance of trade and made themselves too expensive to subdue; the Pirahe wilderfolk, who hid amongst the Imperial clients of Ostianua; the Azi of old, who turned away the high walls and golden promises of Nakasch, Tannoud, and Saadni; and, of course, the Sha’Azzuri, who lived in the shadow of Murat and would not die.
