I rarely post writing cause I'm not great at it, but I wanted to post a short snippet from a story my lovely friend @wynnbellamy is writing!
Make sure to go check it out! <3
Anyways, enjoy the lesbians 😘
Nightshifts at the Fairy Fort Café were always Alora's favorite.
Sure, to others, they may despise it. Many hate loosing out on sleep, and dealing with tired and grumpy customers is never a pleasant experience.
But to her? It was calming.
The quiet atmosphere, the soft hissing of the espresso machines, and the quiet tip-tap of keyboard keys of students finishing their assignments last minute always seemed to sooth her anxious nerves.
"Just a minute, Mrs. Solis!" Alora called over her shoulder as she prepped a steaming latte. She pulled it out from under the espresso machine, adding a few minor details to the bubbling foam on top, before proudly slapping a lid over it.
She turned back towards the counter where a short women was waiting on the other side. Alora promptly made her way over, setting the cup in front of her with a soft smile.
Mrs. Solis offered a quaint nod, murmuring a word of thanks before turning towards the exit.
But just as Alora was going to turn back around and towards her work...
The bell to the cafés entrance rang.
In strode none other than Alora's friend from the university, Cassandra Moon, otherwise known as Clover.
And almost immediately, Alora's face heated.
The way the warm light of the café reflected off of Clover's glossy hair... the soft look in her eyes as she offered her apologies to a man she bumped shoulders with as she walked past... The star-like freckles littering her face like countless galaxies...
She didn’t even realize she was staring until Clover was standing right in front of her.
Alora let out s squeak that was far to high-pitched for someone her age.
"C-Clover-!" She exhaled sharply, offering a smile and praying that her flush cheeks weren't too noticeable. "What brings you here?"
"Just needed a pick-me up so I can stay awake." Clover, thankfully, didn't seem to pick up on Alora's distress, instead choosing to casually lean up against the counter. Clover furrowed her brow, the freckles on her face growing slightly as she realized what she said may have implyed something, and hastily finishing with: "Y'know, for studying, of course."
"Yeah." Alora wasn't paying too much attention, far to focused on on Clover's mildly anxious face.
There was a brief moment of awkward silence, before Alora finally spoke again."I-I'll get that started for you."
"Thanks." Clover smiled softly, causing Alora's stomach to start doing cartwheels.
Alora smiled weakly, her mind promptly spinning as she started working on espresso with hints of peppermint.
Did her smile look forced? Does she look uncomfortable? Oh no Clover probably thinks she didn't want to see her-
"Here." Alora breathed, her lips trembling with a shaky smile as she held the steaming cup out towards Clover.
The Starlian grinned warmly, reaching towards into her bag that she was carrying over her shoulder.
"Thanks! How much do I owe you?"
"It's on the house!" Alora stammered, sounding far to desperate than she would have liked. Clover, thankfully, just laughed.
"Really? I doubt Joel will like tha-"
"It's fine! Really!" Alora winced slightly as she cut her off. "I get a free coffee every day and I haven't used it yet. This can count towards it."
Clover's expression softened as she, finally, nodded, caving in.
"Alright, but I owe you, okay?"
Alora's face grew hot as Clover reached out to carefully take the cup from her hands, their fingers briefly brushing.
"Thanks again, Alora! See you at class!"
Alora didn't stop waving until the door swung shut, the room growing quiet once more. As soon as it did, she slumped forwards, leaning her elbows on the counter and hiding her red face in her hands.
"Ughh.. what are you doing me, Clo..."
Ta-daaa~ anyways I'm going back to my hobbit hole cya~
