Cyber Pointillism: A Dialogue of Dots and Thought @elgnart

Cyber Pointillism feels like a dialogue between human intuition and machine logic. Each dot obeys rules, grids, and algorithms—but within this structure lies emotion, imbalance, and imperfection.

In this sense, it is a modern parallel to hieroglyphs: tiny units of meaning arranged into larger narratives, a visual language encoded in pixels rather than stone.

I often find myself musing captivated by how a single color choice can shift tension, mood, and rhythm. Limiting the palette to two colors is deceptively simple; it is enough to explore shadow and light, chaos and order, absence and presence. Minimal, yet monumental.

Even in a digital medium, the work feels handcrafted by the mind. Cyber Pointillism, therefore, is not merely a technique—it is a point of view, a pixelated contemplation of perception, pattern, and the poetry of artistic constraint.

We’ve just wrapped up a panel with coders who built their own programming language for creating audiovisual art. David Ogborn draws heavy inspiration from cognitive linguistics. As an Australian who emigrated to Canada, he physically felt how his language carried specific, embodied dimensions. To better express his way of thinking, he created his own tool.

The coders emphasized the need to challenge inherited frameworks and realities, and to keep transforming the code — not just technically, but conceptually.

Maybe art and engineering aren’t opposites at all.
