I think armpits smell as a body response to danger or humid conditions. You sweat a lot but, your armpits "really" start to sweat when you're nervous, someone or something dangerous is near by and you can sense it or if it's too hot to be comfortable. As if you're body was saying, "Hey, in case your brain or other senses didn't make it clear you should probably get out of here. Here's some stink in case you were distracted." And of course we invented deoderant, just like the lightbulb getting rid of something that made us uncomfortable instead of solving an issue. Now we over push ourselves, put outselves in dangerous situations without knowing it and are secretly smelly.
