A plaque of mudstone incised with images of deer, eagles, and complex knotwork interlace based on the shape of the cross. It is perforated near the top, with wear suggesting it was suspended on a cord for a long period of time. Its art style suggests a tenth-century date, and it is one of the latest artefacts from the site.

I’m doing the “foraging at a village” scenario of Pikeman’s Lament. Its the autumn of 1644 and MacColla’s irish and highlanders descend on a small highlands village near the chieftan’s home in Lorne, to burn and pillage Campbell lands. Meanwhile, the local Clan Campbell garrison at Dunstaffnage has been dispatched as the village has not paid its taxes to the Campbell chieftans. The villagers themselves are sick of both MacDonalds and Campbells and have sworn no allegiance.
