GUYS HELP I have 4 infants in sims 4 and I HAVE REGERTS
hey I saw your url what are your favorite musicals and what are some interesting/compelling things about them?
I CAN'T BELIEVE I FORGOT TO ANSWER THIS. ANON THIS ASK MEANS THE WORLD TO ME!!! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!!
I surprisingly do not have a favourite musical, BUT!!! Bill Finn is/was my favourite COMPOSER (RIP legend), and The Marvin Trilogy means the world to me.
The Marvin Trilogy: In Trousers, March Of The Falsettos and Falsettoland + the oh so popular revival of Falsettos !!!
The Marvin Trilogy definitely stands out a lot to me when compared all of the musicals I've watched (about 35 thus far...💔 without counting different productions of the same musicals, though)!!! There's depth and ugliness in every character, and Bill Finn literally admitted to trying to make one of the characters as shitty as possible in the beginning!!! I, personally, need depth in character. I'm not going to complain if they have flaws — fucking GIVE IT TO ME!!!
↑ Also, aside from The Marvin Trilogy: Bill Finn also composed a musical called "A New Brain" and it's so great. That man loved writing songs where mothers have mental breakdowns, and he did so spectacularly. The main character in that musical is actually sort of his self-insert — not to spoil the musical — as, much like the main character, he also had Trouble in His Brain... He also said that the closest he'd ever gotten to writing a song about a lover is with his song "I'd Rather Be Sailing" (If memory serves me correct, anyway... I might be unintentionally lying my ass off. Whoops)
ASIDE FROM THAT!!! A MUSICAL THAT ISN'T WRITTEN BY BILL FINN: CABARET!!! I currently have a tiny little fixation on Cabaret, which is mostly because of current politics... I probably don't have to explain myself on that front.
Anyway, I haven't yet watched the MOVIE Cabaret, but if you haven't heard the soundtrack, I suggest listening to Liza Minnelli's rendition of the SONG Cabaret. It's breathtaking. Jane Horrocks has the emotion I love, but Liza's vocals are SOOO GOOD!!! GOD!!! I'm so passionate about this musical and I think everyone, in 2026, should watch and/or rewatch it immediately. It's long overdue, imo...
↑ Okay, I'm done but I'm going to link something... My Cabaret playlist, where I try to put my favourite version of every song from every goddamn album. Help me. 1998 is peak though.
currently thinking about the usamerican exchange student in my screenwriting class last term who seemed utterly incapable of comprehending the fact that australian students, attending an australian university, might write films based on australian experiences.
