I followed the trail Evan King put me on and found The Family holed up underneath an old train yard. They have abhorrent, near-cannibalistic practices that they label "vampirism," but I realized that they were not a threat.

Understanding that they could be reasoned with allowed me to secure the safety of Arefu as well, and it made me realize that in some way, these outcasts are also looking for a place to call home and deserve the chance, different as they are.

I returned to Megaton at sundown to inform Lucy that her brother Ian was safe, and she didn't seem to care about what he had done in the past -- I just hope all of these people will be able to move forward together from now on.

I found some better weapons over the last few days, and they've been making such a big difference in how I fare out there. I headed back to Megaton to tell Lucy about her family, and I promised her that I would find her brother, Ian, wherever he is.

One of the more interesting spots I went looking was Hamilton's Hideaway. Full of radscorpions, which were quite tough to handle, and ran into the last couple of raiders that seemed to be sheltering there.

It's too dangerous outside this late, so I took over their little alcove for the night. Also, the Galaxy News Radio guy seems to have gone offline. I hope everything is alright.

Got almost no rest last night. I finally made my way to Arefu, which is under siege from some nearby gang that calls themselves "The Family." I'm sorry for Lucy; when I got to her parents' to deliver her letter it looked like they were long gone -- her brother, Ian, is missing so I guess I'm obligated to help out in that matter, as well.

On my way back I stumbled across a Vault 106. I had hoped there would be another community similar to 101's, but something terrible has happened here. I keep getting these strange visions of my father the deeper I go, and all of the vault's residents have gone insane.

It was too dark to head back to Megaton, so I holed up in one of the vault's dorms for a night. Felt like I had to sleep with one eye open the whole night.
