I’m glad you like my art! I’ve got a long way to go, so I’m really glad you enjoy it anyways.

I haven’t got a clue what the games these guys are from are about, but I can guess from the swords that they fight a lot. I thought it might be fun to have them fighting Together despite me being too stubborn to pull up additional references or do any background research at all

Erdrick from dragon quest 1-3 is a trans woman

In the original game you play as her descendant, and Erdrick is referred to and portrayed as a man.

Dragon quest 2 continues this but with even later descendants.

Dragon quest 3 has a twist ending revealing that it’s a prequel to the first game and the main character is Erdrick, that name being in reality just a title given to her. It’s the first game where you’re allowed to pick the gender of the main character, but because they forgot they had that they never actually gave the female mc any unique portrait so she looks just like her male counterpart. Through the game she is occasionally mistaken for a man, but everyone always corrects themselves when told otherwise.

So we have a character who looks just like she would have if she were a man, who is often mistaken for a man but insists that she isn’t, and who is remembered in history as a man. Erdrick is a trans girlie and I love her <3

Also, there is an item in dragon quest 3 called the mod rod, which is part of a side quest where an “old man” wants it. It lets you change your appearance to anything, and when man gets it he uses it to turn herself into a woman. Erdrick giving it up, first of all solidarity, but also makes me think she isn’t very physically dysphoric. She knows she’s a girl, and the people around her accept her as one, so she doesn’t really feel the need to physically transition, at least not during her current adventure. And honestly Queen, love that for her.
