Three Graphic Design Mistakes To Avoid At All Cost
There are three graphic design mistakes that you should never make. A graphic designer that I hired on a trial basis and ended up releasing and basically I paid him because he did the work, but I don't think this guy had any formal training in graphic design, and it was easy to see. So I'm gonna go over three things that you should avoid whenever you're doing graphic design for yourself or for anyone else. 1st Mistake: Not Proof Reading The copy that I gave this designer was . . . "How to Paint With Acrylics", but his copy read "How Is Paint With Acrylics", which is just incorrect grammatically. This was the only text on my image, so as the designer you need to make sure that the text, especially if there's such a small amount of text, that text is spot-on and grammatically correct. And if ever you receive the copy from someone and it is grammatically incorrect, you should compile a list of everything that is grammatically incorrect or spelled incorrectly, and then talk to them about it and see if it was purposeful or not, and if they would like you to change it or not. Be nice about it, and compile all the mistakes you find and send them at once instead of sending them every time you find a mistake. It's just helpful for them to have everything at once. You MUST Proof Read EVERYTHING. 2nd Mistake: Using poor quality low-resolution images The second mistake is to never pull an image from a video or website that's not sharp. So if you get an image or you pull an image from something and you realize that it's not sharp, (high resolution and of good quality) you should contact the client and say " Hey, this image that I'm getting isn't sharp, do you have any alternatives? Can you provide me with an image? Every graphic designer knows what looks good on the computer screen and on the internet will not look as good in printed material. There is a big difference in resolution requirements for print media. 3rd Mistake: Copyright infringement I was able to find the exact arrow that he simply pulled off of some website and I don't know whether it's free to use or not but is potentially copyright infringement by just pulling someone's stuff, but he didn't even bother to trace it, which also made it low resolution and poor quality. Again, he could have simply redrawn the arrow and made it better quality as well as give it an original flare and avoided both taboo mistakes of being low quality and possible infringement. There are many ways to find copyright free images and graphics that there is no need to ever risk putting yourself or your client in legal jeopardy. To Architecture now - and some building designs seem to just effortlessly merge into their environment with an amazing empathy for their surroundings. The Vineyard in Kakheti, Georgia, designed and visualized by X Architecture is one such project. Amazing! http://www.archilovers.com/projects/215005/shilda-winery.html
