Tender chicken breasts cooked in a flavorful apple cider sauce with hints of honey and Dijon mustard, complemented by slices of apple and onion. This slow cooker recipe is easy to prepare and perfect for a cozy weeknight dinner.
Ingredients: 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts. 2 cups apple cider. 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar. 2 tablespoons honey. 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard. 1 teaspoon smoked paprika. 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder. Salt and pepper to taste. 2 apples, cored and sliced. 1 onion, sliced. 2 tablespoons cornstarch. 2 tablespoons water. Fresh parsley for garnish optional.
Instructions: Apple cider, apple cider vinegar, honey, Dijon mustard, smoked paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper should all be put into a slow cooker. Put the chicken breasts in the slow cooker and turn them over to cover them with the sauce. Put apple and onion slices on top of the chicken. When the chicken is done, cover it and cook on low for 6 to 8 hours or high for 3 to 4 hours. Add water and cornstarch to a small bowl. Stir until the mixture is smooth. During the last 30 minutes of cooking, stir the mixture into the slow cooker to make the sauce thicker. When the chicken is done and the sauce has thickened, serve it hot. If you want, you can top it with fresh parsley. Have fun!
