@howdy-writes and @chayscribbles also asked for Dione! I’m not entirely sure how to format this, so... messy bullet points it is!

6′4″

Extremely thin. Unhealthily so. It’s barely noticeable beneath her cloak, but once she loses it, it’s almost obvious to even people with non-medical backgrounds that if not for her magic to sustain herself, she’d likely be dead by starvation and heavy nutrient-deficiency.

Pale, near-porcelain skin due to the same reasons as above ^. She blushes extremely easily, and because of the lack of pigment in her skin, it’s very obvious and covers her entire face. She’s got a scattering of dark freckles and beauty marks on her face, shoulders and arms, but very few.

Even without the lack of nutrition, Dione naturally has a longer and more slender build.

Her skin lacks scars and her fingers are long and delicate as a reflection of her royal treatment as a child.

Long, oval face with a pointed chin and a slightly angular jaw-line. Her cheekbones wouldn’t normally be that notable, but are very visible due to her lack of fat. Large, triangular and pointed nose. Thin, softly pointed lips and single pointed ear tips (like an elf!).

Vividly leaf green eyes that almost seem to glow (even without magic use). Her eyes are more similar to her mother’s, hence she has a single eyelid and a very thin shape to them. Because she’s a pretentious nerd, she also wears a magic version of eyeliner in an extension of her natural lashes (mild cat’s eye look).

Dark hair down half of her back that looks black most of the time, but under certain lightings it’s visibly just a really really dark brown with a bluish sheen. Long waves, smaller strands form ringlets. Due to her magic use, the lower half of her hair fades into a brilliant forest green colour.

There are minor patches of fish-like black scales with a bright green sheen on her shoulders and hips as a consequence of her magic, and these patches grow far larger later on in the story.

She also gets fangs later on in the story! Her eye teeth and first molars are long and pointed and serrated on the inside!

She usually wears a dark maroon, thick cloak with silver fox fur as a lining and trim. Underneath this, she wears a pale green dress/robes? I dunno what it is but it looks cool. And a belt with tons of pouches and pockets for her magic ingredients, and leather boots, leather straps braided around her wrists, and flowy pants that I dunno the proper name for.

10. Scars?Xander - He had an accident when he was 4 (he blames his brother!), when he got jammed in a kids’ metal slide, and his brother came down after him, shoving him right down and he snapped his fibula of his right leg and had to get a pin inserted to keep the bone straight, so he’s got a pretty significant scar there. He’s got a scar on his bottom lip where he bit through it when he was a kid too. Zubin - He’s got a couple of rough and tumble, accidental scars, but nothing else. Aaliyah - She’s not really got any scars.Pippa - Again, she’s not really got many, apart from the odd one or two from growing up. Lyle - He’s got some quite significant self-harm scars on his upper arms and on the inner sides of his thighs, but apart from that, nothing else.Seòras - Not really!

CELESTINE (Up until book 3--clothing is from the start of book 1.)

4′9 1/2″

Celestine looks like she could be 14, and if she tries for it, she can seem even younger than that! She’s got that real round facial structure, soft and round cheeks, tiny chin, big forehead, big and wide eye(s). Nose with low bridge, broad base; round lips; dark, curving brows. She may be short, but she isn’t tiny: her build has a fair amount of chub to it, and the baby-fat likeness makes her look ever younger.

Deep, bronzy brown skin with a warm, orangey undertone. Underneath a long maroon dress with cream ruffles at its collar and sleeve ends, she hides patches of navy blue and silver scales on her chest, legs, shoulders and waist. Under a light beige scarf, she conceals three slits on either side of her neck--gills. She also has little wing like, light blue and black speckled fins that sprout from her shoulder blades and the sides of her waist.

Her dark brown, nearly black hair is a full, poofy cloud of tight ringing curls that falls just to her shoulders. Frequently she lets a part of her hair fall over the left side of her face, leaving her missing eye hidden. She also conceals the three points to each of her ears beneath her hair.

Her leather boots are nearly to her knees and contain hidden pockets down the insides. The soles are flat but with a grippy tread for hardcore parkour~

Her right eye is a light, stormy blue grey, similar to the colour of the mineral celestine! Hence her name! That’s also the colour of her magic~ When experiencing severe fear or anger, her pupil can thin to a vertical slit, just like a cat’s.

And then CAPTAIN XUÂN (with some things missing because spoilers~)

5′10″, though they usually wear heels that make them 5′11″ or up

Xuân is heckin’ muscular. They just. They are. Very Muscular. Obvious muscle definition, especially on their arms, legs and chest. Broad shouldered, mostly straight-lined form, but they do have a notable inwards curve to their spine and a wider waist.

They look physically to be in their mid-thirties, though this is more because of their build and child-like demeanor--when they’re particularly tired, it’s fairly obvious they are in their early forties.

Oval face with a soft triangular chin, low nose bridge with a wide base and slight upturned end. Full lips, notable high cheekbones, narrow, diamond shaped eyes with vivid leaf green irises. Dark brows with an angular curve.

Long, wavy hair that fall to their waist, nearly black with a slight reddish or bluish hue depending on the lighting. It always covers their ears.

Heavily tanned, light brown skin with a soft golden undertone. Pale green tattoos crawl up their arms in octopus tentacle designs. They have so many scars oh my stars. The most obvious is the jagged line stretching across their face from their left temple to the edge of their right jaw. They also have numerous cuts and bullet wounds across the rest of their body. A severe, nearly open wound cuts around their right ankle, a massive scar of charred and barely covering skin, with visible cracked bone--their ankle broke long ago and never properly reformed, magically infected against healing.

Trust me, it’s just as confusing to me. ^^’ I think the way I do it, is: if I’m talking about the character from a time during book one, I use ‘Colin’, but if I’m talking about them after they realized their gender, I use ‘Caelin’? Yeah. It’s a tad different with Caelin because ‘Colin’ isn’t technically their dead name--they still like the name, as they chose it for themself when they were younger, but they decided it was just too masculine for them when they came out as genderfluid. They don’t feel dysphoric when people refer to them as such, they just don’t think the name fits them now!

OKAY ON TO THE DESCRIPTION~

5′4″

Medium bronze skin with a warm undertone, dark brown hair with a reddish sheen and slightly lighter tips that falls in ripples to just below their shoulders (in the second book and beyond, it’s far longer). They often keep it in two braids (especially for sleep), which causes the ripples--without wearing braids for a while, their hair is nearly completely straight.

Well-defined muscular build, thickset/broad shoulders and neck and notably muscular arms. Rougher skin, especially on their hands because of constant rope handling and the general life of a sailor. Soft but square jawline with an oval-shaped face, thicker lips. Downwards tipping nose with a low bridge and a broad base, with a slight concave angle (bump) near their eyeline. Dense, squarish eyebrows over thin, downwards curving teardrop eyes with notable epicanthal folds and a single eyelid.

They have complete heterochromia! Their right iris is a light, near-beige hazel, and their left is a dark, doe brown.

They have a total of four small golden ring earrings: one in each ear lobe, and two in the upper helix of their right ear. They also have any number of small bruises at any time because... they are a clutz. Who. Is always tripping and bumping into things and has no idea where these bruises come from. They also have a number of small scars across their body from previous fights!

I want them to have tattoos but I haven’t yet figured out where they would be or what they look like. 🤔

Their typical outfit is a dark blue shirt with poofy sleeves and dark trousers tied about the waist with their Métis sash! They also wear leather boots with slight heels and folded down tops.

In colder weather, they wear a dark brown jacket as well!

Heads up for somewhat major spoilers!

5′7″ and 3/4 or... something about there. He’s usually ducking his head due to anxiety though, so no one really knows his true height.

I’ve been on and off about whether I would classify him as albino or not, but I’m pretty sure he’s at least heavily leucistic. Extremely pale, near-white and quite translucent skin. Veins are obvious on his wrist and long fingers. Pure white hair that falls very straight and to his waist, and bangs to his chest always framing his face with a side parting.

He’s got a thin build, but he’s just really lanky and wiry. Boney shoulders and hips, lithe shape overall. He’s still not grown into his long limbs, so occasionally is unsure about where to rest them and ends up looking like a nervous spider. ^^’

Squarish but soft jaw, round chin, thin but round lips. Long and rectangular face overall. Strong, narrow, triangular and slightly upturned nose with a high bridge. Dark, brown, thick eyebrows with a notable angular arch. Round, almost droopy eyes that are constantly shifting through different colours depending on the lighting. Different shades of blue are most common, but so are browns, various shades of grey/black/white, and even green. 

His ears have five points along the helix and one on the lobe that extend out into little glowy bulbs that he constantly hides underneath his hair, but shhhh you don’t know that yet shhhhh

When using magic his eyes glow, but when in the dark he also has bioluminescent dots curling along his cheeks, forehead and down across his chest and arms. These glow the same colour as the magic he’s currently using.

He often wears his Navy uniform for third/second mate, a dark blue jacket with golden trim and buttons, dark pants and leather boots. White undershirt. When at work, he wears a flintlock rifle across his back on a leather sash diagonally across his chest.
