IT’S OUT
I can’t wait to see where this goes!!!
My Recap/Review/Thoughts on AOAAG
Before I start , I just wanna say if you haven't seen the latest episode yet, this does contain spoilers. Now that that's done on to the episode.
I'll start with the opening scenes/monologues. The heartbreak box, while I know it made a lot of people sad, that picture of DannyxMindy, actually made me smile. That photo made me smile because to me it gave a sense of hope, reason that is, is that:
1. Look how happy they were in that pic
2.The fact that she seemed to wait awhile before deciding to place it with the other ex-boyfriend photo's, I'm also assuming the razor was also his
We don't know how long exactly she was holding on to his things, but, those two things signify to me that Mindy was still holding on to parts of her failed relationship with Danny . And that it was probably a bit longer then she had with her other exes. Even with that stuff put away, she couldn't help, later, but talk about him to Jenny. While not mentioning anything about the other photographs in the box.Â
Then there was , probably my number one favorite scene, the talk in the hospital break room/lounge, whatever you want to call it. I love how at first Mindy didn't want to say anything. She was just intent on biting her thumbnail. But the minute Danny attempted to make her laugh and kept on prodding, she immediately opened up to him on her current "troubles". That transitioned nicely into their little back and forth and you could just see the chemistry and longing in the air, despite him dating Sally. Just when I thought I couldn't love that scene anymore than I already did, Danny throws out the horrible , yet adorable "I'll be back", and I am dying of laughter.
I think this is the first episode where I absolutely loved both of the ongoing storylines, both A and B, equally. Danny was just so funny in the subway with that pink umbrella and his tough guy, not so acting, act. That whole lead into the Rabbi, Jewish situation was hilarious. I almost died again at Danny's prayer. I'm not Jewish, but I do know what the shabbas prayer is supposed to sound like, and that wasn't it. Anyone else notice the "Min haha" part of it, lol.
Both Pally and Messina were just on fire in those scenes. I've loved Peter MacNicol since Ally McBeal, and that casting of him as a Rabbi was just brilliant. He's so funny and I feel like he fit right in with the regular cast. And of course I loved the Rabbi's very significant Dandy observation, and of course what it led to and what that means for the remaining two episodes.
On to the Officer part of this episode. I am not as familiar with Tim Daly as I am with Peter MacNicol, but I loved the Charlie character. I love Charlie because of the way Mindy reacted to everything he did. She was just so dramatic and funny in every scene with him. I like the small progression of Charlie's relationship with Jenny throughout the ep. At first he seems like this overbearing father/cop, but then you began to see he's not so bad, he just really cares about his daughter and her well being. And while not being a parent, I can still understand that need to protect your young. I would do anything to make sure my little sister grows up protected and to make the right choices. she's five going on 13, but I still find myself thinking of her future. I didn't expect to like Charlie, and I definitely did not expect to experience the feels I did when he said " I'm not a guy, I'm a man", I mean hot damn, you sure are, haha.
I think the final scenes, once they were off the subway and the whole longing, smouldering, love eyes, thinking thing, that Danny was doing, has probably been talked about enough. So I'll just say I loved every second of it, and can't wait to see where that leads to.
One last thing before I'm done : "Susan Robinson?"Â "No I'm Beverly something", yet another hint at a possible criminal or maybe law enforcement, past for Beverly. I just have to say I love how mysteriously random her background is and look forward to learning more random facts about her in the next season.
So Those are my thoughts, please share your thoughts with me on the episode, or anything else, by dropping an ask in my Tell me your Dandy feels box, I love to discuss with other people in the fandom.
“If what the two of you have isn’t real, then I don’t know what is! That is love.”
THE TRAIN SCENE OF DANNY HELPING MINDY OUT IS THE CUTEST THING EVER
