Do you mind if I politely ask for some in depth character analysis on Antonio Bartalotti?
I know there's probably not much, but you never know. I just had a thought about it.
Could he have had a family of some sort, what would have happened if he did? What would happen after his death, loss of power, etc?
Honestly the biggest thing to analyses about him is how he represents what Talon used to be, the way he helped run Talon, the way he was so many focused and full of himself that he thought he was invincible. We honestly don't even have the reasoning on why he blew up the Oslo base, we know the Rome one was because Gerard was looking into things but way Oslo? Was it to send a message on how strong Talon was? How strong he was?
As for what happened after his death we only see the consequence of that, Antonio's death lead to Talon gain more power through Doomfist taking leadership. Which also lead to every other tragic event in Overwatch happening, with a few exceptions. Honestly with this guy, if he did have a family I doubt he was involved, he honestly doesn't seem like the type. That or they firmly keep their image as far away from him as possible now because that would lead to a lot of trouble for them if they didn't.
Though there is something to say about Antonio Bartalotti that is interesting and that is how he contrasts Doomfist in one key aspect. He had genuine loyalty. A lot of the members of Talon we know of are mostly their for convenience or what little loyalty they have to him is fragile, Moira is there cause he funds her research, Mauga is there for the thrill and money, Maximillian is also there for the money, Sombra is there for the information, Sigma isn't there by choice at all, Reaper and Widow are the only ones who show any shred of loyalty to Talon and even then I'm pretty sure they could be convinced to leave if given a good argument to.
Antonio was completely confident that if he was locked up, his friends in Talon and out would get him off scot free. That and he seemingly was an unknown member of Talon to the major public, honestly a rare sight in Overwatch's present time. He also seemingly had a good reputation as he mentions even just arresting him would damage Overwatch's image. It also seems like the cybernetics he has were ones that he likely needed, considering they aren't very visible and not seemingly made for an outside combat use, it indicates that he likely suffered an injury of some kind that specifically affected his head.
Honestly I kind of hope we get to see more of what Talon was like pre Antonio's death. It would be very interesting to see more of how his death affected Talon.
