#antibinary asks

As a nonbinary aroace, I feel like both ace people and nonbinary people face the same "flavour" of discrimination. Like they are often told that they aren't "serious" or "real" or "queer enough" within queer communities, that we are all just "mentally ill little girls" or "whiny manchildren" who need to just "pick a lane", that we are "cringe" and "not funny", etc. Xenogenders and microlabels get made fun of, told that we "don't need a damn flag for everything", how we "only exist online", things like that. Also terfs are really fucking interested in us for some reason (no shit for non binary people, and aphobia is a well known terf recrutment tactic)

Providing clarification here, some non-binary people identify as cis, even if by technicality they're trans. That's why some people say trans and non-binary people. Now, this doesn't make it less true that they DO treat us as an afterthought.

Im putting archaeology on the top shelf for cis people until they learn that sex≠gender, and that we, for the most part, cant know the gender system of prehistoric peoples, or if they even had a man/woman concept

I personally find "trans and nonbinary" to be more inclusive, as a nonbinary person who doesn't identify as trans or cis. It's well-documented (for example in the annual Gender Census) that there is a subset of nonbinary people who don't see themselves as having transitioned from one gender to other(s) and so don't personally use "trans" to describe themselves. When I see "trans" used under the assumption that it automatically includes nonbinary people, I know objectively that I'm meant to be included, but it doesn't sit right with me and honestly makes me feel a little dysphoric. I never feel like I belong in transfemme spaces, which is where people assume I "belong", only in spaces specifically for nonbinary people. I know I'm not unwanted but it still feels like trans spaces aren't mine. Just wanted to offer another perspective than the ones I've seen here.

Seeing people call Kris (from Deltarune) a lesbian when shipped with a female character or calling any ship with Kris Yuri or Yaoi. Yes, some non binary people can be lesbians, but it still feels weird.

I am sick and tired of binary trans people writing us off and even some outside of the binary. I don't fucking feel gender, what am I supposed to do if that's too fucking "out there" for you. Get it back?! I should not have to set up tests in order to know if my parents will support me for using it/its and trying to find neopronouns that suit me. We should not be considered fucking frivolous for not conforming to that shitty binary. And I just fucking love how non binary has become its own box for you people to put us in. Fuck off, we should all be living in caves while in fear for our lives because there are humongous saber tooth lions.

If I ever come across anybody in real life who uses binary pronouns for an among us show character I'm gonna throttle them. Just let us have canon nonbinary rep please. You have a lot of shows where everybody is straight and cis let us have our show of the insanely queer and non binary show please.
