Fannon Vs Cannon and Ships (Criticism)
I was thinking about analysis again, haters, fannon vs cannon. Now personally, fannon can be really fun. However, if it is disproved by cannon, the writers to the show or movie itself and someone is desperate to want it to be cannon. I do think that is rather silly to obnoxious depending on what it is.
For example I did ages ago run into a fan saying "Jinu is Bi!" which has no evidence. It is a fannon ship and I as a straight female, I can understand why it's shipped. Abby x Jinu is attractive however, its not cannon. I didn't want to completely disprove it but I said in response that I feel the only Saja that gives of bi vibes via movie is Abby. That sexuality is a behavior which can be observed. The fan then claims Jinu gave Abby "I want to pork you" eyes at Abby. Referring to the hot sauce challenge.
This is easily disproved because the behavior in this whole scene isn't sexual. They are trying to win fans over and each Saja Boy is failing this challenge, except baby. Jinu and Abby are both taken out by the sheer spice of the hot sauce. When Abby wipes out, Jinu merely glances at him while in pain. He never gave the "I like d**k" look that could hint at bi behavior.
Abby however, I HC as bi because I think he does like men and women. But if he does find Jinu attractive, he is respectful enough to understand "no". So to make sense of what I am seeing within the movie I feel my HC needs to make sense and follow the movie.
Abby gave Jinu a look that could hint at as sexual. Jinu's was not. It gave more of a "why are you looking at me like that?" while putting an arm over him.
2. Jinu however is OK with Abby touching him. Something that I believe shows a comfortableness between the two men. I still HC that Abby finds Jinu attractive, but understands its one-sided and he isn't going to pressure or push himself onto Jinu in a inappropriate manner. Keeping a good relationship between the two of them. Just because I think Abby is bi, doesn't mean Jinu is. They have a good bromance going on instead, a close friendship.
A bromance is a close non sexual relationship between men. Homosexual jokes can also be apart of the relationship, or teasing to get a reaction from Huntrix would possibly just make the girls cry popcorn or go red in the face due to blushing. Though perhaps Jinu wouldn't partake in those jokes or wouldn't because he doesn't want to mess with his friends head if Abby is attracted to him.
Overall I see why Abby x Jinu is shipped, but I feel it isn't because the film supported that but because Abby and Jinu are both hot men. But the shippers are pretty down to earth who can separate the ship and the movie. Like we know the movies cannon ship is Rujinu and I haven't ran into a Abby x Jinu shipper who is hell bent on trashing the movies cannon ship.
It is important to be able to have fun but still show appreciation to the thing your a fan of. Separating fannon from cannon is a good way.
I don't think that is the case however with Polytrix. To be fair, there are some polytrix shippers who can separate fannon vs cannon. I have ran into some good shippers. But there are a lot who attack Rujinu and can't accept the girls most likely don't swing that way. I have seen denial that polytrix is mainly sexual (its a ship, of course it is) to crying about asexuality to deny they sexualize Huntrix's relationship. (which just confuses me. If that is the case, why ship them? Leave Huntrix alone as they are.)
Rujinu fans have ran into plenty of toxic polytrix shippers who also are Jinu haters. They give very big, "I don't actually like this movie or understand it" vibes. They just want to hate Jinu as Rumi's cannon love interest.
Some even go as far as attacking shippers own sexuality. Such as going after heterosexual shippers. Just because I am straight doesn't mean every Rujinu shipper is. An attack such as this just shows they are kinda lacking empathy or sympathy for the characters but also to other real people. I feel this just shows why analysis are important. To understanding the movie, writing and the characters.
There is this one tumblr I have respect for who, got into a long discussion with a Jinu hater who gave off very big incel and misogyny vibes. I read the original post they had with this person and it was like a train wreck. Them trying to talk reason and analysis by showing evidence via movie till the hater just insulted them. I have ran into that behavior myself with Jinu haters/polytrix shippers. They are quick to insult or cry bigot, homophobia ect. (Note, if you are attacking Jinu because he is a male, you are giving misandry vibes. It is not a good argument because you also take Rumi's agency away)

There are other stuff but I guess why I bring up these two ships, up for discussion is because I feel 1) Abby x Jinu shippers are not detached from the movie. They can separate their ship from the movie. I also haven't ran into a bad Abby x Jinu shipper and I bet they don't deny the ships hotness. I am a straight female, I get it and I see why. You can talk movie stuff with them.
Polytrix shippers can't always separate their ship from the movie, attack the cannon ship and the heroine's love interest. Talking sense with them is difficult and they are quick to insult or don't take criticism warnings in their arguments, such as misandry or incel vibes isn't an argument. Instead its like they want to prove more they are kinda hateful or insecure by a fictional man. Make it make sense.
Anywho fannon and ships are fun. But analysis and understanding the movie your a fan of is also important. As well as having respect for the creators of the story your a fan of. Being able to separate what happened in the movie and fannon is important.
