Anteres α Scorpii
One of the brightest stars in the sky, Antares is a supergiant red star towards the end of it's days, and is one of the largest stars visible to the naked eye, it is visibly red in colour when observed.
The star is surrounded by dust and gas which is both illuminated but also, the nearby red nebula is an emissions nebula, hydrogen bombarded with ultra violet light from the nearby star is excited to generate a red glow.
If you look closely between the Orange coloured Anteres and the red nebula you can see what appears at first as a bright star, but is in fact the globular cluster M4, made out of hundreds of thousands of stars itself.
If you have binoculars or live in a dark area, you will be able to just about see the M4 globular cluster, as well as some of the dust and gas around the stars in this region. Anteres is the eye of the Scorpion and visible from many areas of the world except the polar north regions. It's not so far from the Moon currently, which may make viewing the nebula difficult due to glow from it.
