— Jean Charlot, Escritos Sobre Arte Mexicano.
What I hate about anonymous author/ pen name conventions is that you have to say your first name as an initial and the last one in full. My man there is zero secret what my first name is, but my last name would 100% give away my identity. And why would you even want to hide your first name when last names are more of a unique identifier??
All I'm saying is. I wish it was permissible to write something like Jane S. Instead of J. Smith
-”God Save The Queen”, from the film V For Vendetta, in which the likeness of High Chancellor Sutler is painted in drag to look like the Queen.

self-portraits: hidden/anonymous/forgotten
This is one of the class assignments I did in the last week. My Drawing and Monumental forms Prof. asked us to create self-portraits that would be a reinvention of the topic. I decided to touch on the subject of presence and anonimity. Considering how pictures and recordings dominate most areas of media I think that the abscence and presence of our anonimity has different value and orgin depending on how it’s depicted.
Mostly, because all anonimity you can get nowadays is FAKE. It’s the modern luxury.
So, I took the most shitty random mirror selfie (because those are a sign of the times as cheap as I find the whole auto-portrait businness to be tbh) and made myself anonymous in different ways, each representing an orgin and value in context.
