It’s important to celebrate the wins and considerable efforts of those seeking to protect rhinos worldwide - such as the incredible team at @rhinofunduganda. From being extinct in Uganda in the 1980s, rhinos were reintroduced at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary in 2002 and a successful breeding program means there are now 32 thriving white rhinos at Ziwa, like this youngster. Bonobo Thoughtful gaze. The Milwaukee County Zoo has one of the largest breeding groups of Bonobos. The family interaction is so wonderful to watch. Bonobos are both terrestrial and arboreal. Most ground locomotion is characterized by quadrupedal knuckle walking. Bipedal walking has been recorded as less than 1% of terrestrial locomotion in the wild, a figure that decreased with habituation,[29] while in captivity there is a wide variation.
