The program for Free Shakespeare in the Park’s Agamemnon (1977). Directed by Andrei Serban and with music by Elizabeth Swados, this production featured Gloria Foster as Clytemnestra and Dianne Wiest as Cassandra. Serban had previously staged a version of this Agamemnon at Lincoln Center’s Vivian Beaumont Theater.

Pollione has nothing like this; one can treat him as a violator, a conqueror, a rapist. Both the Adalgisa/Pollione and the Norma/Pollione duets are violent; Bellini's sympathy is with the women, together.''

I LOVE THIS MAN
I can listen to her sing this over and over. If I have one wish for her is that Catherine Breillat or Jane Campion direct her in a film version of Lucia with Jonas Kaufmann and Peter Mattei.
