Lol I just realized I should specify this is for the writing ask game!!
💖
Hehe no worries I figured <3 💖 What do you like most about your own writing? Honestly a lot!! I use too many adverbs but that's because I like them. I like that my writing is more poetic than many. I like that I can look at something that I banged out and find all the little things I've worked on over the years - character voices, location descriptions, combat - better than before! I like that although the technical aspects of my writing have vastly improved, and that my communication of what's going on in the characters' hearts and heads has improved, ultimately I can still recognize a lot of the themes, loves, cares, worries and fears that little 12-year-old me was trying to put into their work. I love that I can make myself cry consistently. (Because if I won't cry at my own work, how am I gonna make other people cry? They only see the words I wrote not all the things I wanted to put in the spaces between them.) Laugh consistently. Smile.
I've been writing a really long time. I love my writing. It's the thing I've cared about, nurtured, soothed, built the most in my life. I often struggle to express myself in my day to day. I don't even make meta or personal posts much (lol except for ask memes). But writing. Anyway just. Writing. It's hard like life is hard, and it's beautiful like life is beautiful, and the harder you look at it the more beautiful(ly funny, dark, sad, spacious, wonderful, terrifying, connecting) things you find. And I love that it ties me up with people.
Chapters: 1/1 Fandom: Blooming Panic (Visual Novel) Rating: General Audiences Warnings: No Archive Warnings Apply Characters: xyx (Blooming Panic), June (Blooming Panic), nightowl (Blooming Panic), salociN (Blooming Panic), two2 (Blooming Panic) Additional Tags: xyx goes bald, Crack Treated Seriously, Crack, balding, Hair Loss, no beta we die like xyx's hair, Chatting & Messaging Summary:
This was probably some weird, foggy, stress dream.
It had to be. There was no other explanation for what he was looking at.
It was 6AM, and Xyx was standing in his bathroom, hairbrush in hand, looking in the mirror. Standing in the mirror, staring back at him, was, as expected, his reflection.
But the hairbrush in his hand had an unusually large clump of hair nestled between the bristles.
And in the mirror, Xyx was looking at a bare, shiny spot where the hair used to be.
Xyx was balding.
I think too many of us love you to disappear….
haha ohhhh okay this is so fine
i think leaving feedback on fics is kind of like the whole "shopping cart theory"
the shopping cart theory holds that one of the best tests of moral character and one's capacity to self-govern is whether they return the shopping cart they used to a cart corral or if they leave it sitting out in the middle of the parking lot.
it's universally agreed upon that returning your cart is the right thing to do, but there is no one that will force you to do it. there is no one watching you to shame you if you don't do it. there is also no glory for you if you choose to do the universally accepted right thing. it is a pure and simple choice you make over whether you'll do the right thing without any promise of praise if you do it or any threat of punishment or shame if you don't.
reblogging or leaving feedback on a fic feels similar to me. everyone agrees that it's good and right to support writers, but there is no one forcing you to do so. you can read all the fic you want without leaving a single trace you were ever there, if you so choose. there's no one looking over your shoulder and judging you if you don't, either - the choice between leaving feedback for a writer or not, after you've consumed and enjoyed their work, is entirely your choice.
are you someone who leaves your shopping cart in the middle of the parking lot or are you someone who returns their cart to the cart corral?

if you have a guest speaker coming to your class, you should not look like you just rolled out of bed.
