the best way I can describe what makes kingdon even juicier and ten times better is through the song “the other woman”. You see, I think it’s just sooo beautifully messy when the fandom decides to write Abby as you know; a human being, but also as a devoted and actually sweet wife.
It’s pretty easy when writing a storyline about cheating, to villainize the partner in the persons relationship so the other characters can get together quickly. I don’t think enough people know (at least in my interpretation) that the other woman’s true villain has always been the man, while sure; the lyrics provide the man doing the cheating a fantasy his wife can no longer give through the image and relationship with the other woman, it reminds me more on the fact that Langdon is a pretty good dad, but not a good husband; and the show doesn’t shy away from that. And so the moral dilemma he has to go through is something that makes “the drama” a million times better but also so compelling and interesting.
Still, this is about kingdon and while the song ends in tragedy, (and we of course would like a happy ending) in our situation she no longer is just another lover but becomes the true lover at the end
