In this moment, Alicent became the girl Rhaenyra had fallen in love with twenty years ago. You see it in her eyes and her expression and when she replies to her, you hear it in her voice. It’s like welcoming back a friend you haven’t seen in ages or going home for the first time in years. If we took away the war, the deaths, and the betrayals, this scene was two lovers pulled apart by time meeting again when one decided to cut the strings of fate and weave the rest themselves. Rhaenyra had been willing to throw it all away for Alicent at one point because she loved her and now Alicent is allowing herself to finally love Rhaenyra back and ask her the same. Come with me was a love declaration, a confirmation of their tragic story and a promise that if all failed, they still could have each other.
