Wish I had experienced more of the EU before George sold Star Wars to Disney. I was born in 1998 so I had plenty of time. It’s a shame since I no longer have the patience and bandwidth to pick up a book and read it.
For added context, I read a few novels here and there. For example, I believe I caught the end of the Legacy of the Force series which allowed me to see Ben, Anakin, Jaina, Jacen, Mara Jade, Leia, Han, and Luke in their EU glory. I also read some stories from the ancient days of the Sith and Jedi. All of this was done as a teenager in my local public library who graciously had many of these EU and old canon books/comics along with many other nerdtastic stories. I was enthralled with the extra stories that Star Wars canon couldn’t provide at the time. Then George sold the rights for billions of dollars which cut off further EU stories from coming to fruition. What a shame. My only hope now is that one day, I’ll read more about the forgotten history which has since been renamed “Legends”. I have been watching passionately made YouTube videos on topics from the EU over the past decade and a half but it’s not the same as truly experiencing the EU as fans from the 90s and 2000s did.
I wish to have a chance to play more Jedi Knight games along with SWTOR as I’ve already experienced these eras on screen with two Jedi Knight games and the two KOTOR games.
I hope Filoni pushes for more similar content as displayed in the EU without forgetting who originally told those stories as well as how they were both told and experienced by millions of fans.
After the travesty that was the Star Wars sequels and Kathleen Kennedy falsely stating that there was no extra material to use for said trilogy, I believe LucasFilm has mostly bounced back from that era. We have such great content as the final season of the Clone Wars, Rebels, Bad Batch, Tales of the Jedi, Jedi Survivor, Maul— Shadow Lord, Rouge One, The Mandalorian (and the new movie), presumably some parts of the High Republic initiative (haven’t experienced it), and various comics from all over the place (which I have yet to read).
I hope Disney listens to the passionate creators inside LucasFilms to capitalize off of their love of the franchise. We don’t need half assed plots, character development, and lore breaking moments. They need the original spirit of George Lucas and love from the fans. Let’s hope Dave Filoni keeps up this influx of amazing story telling and runs with it.

I could talk about the Red Sith all day. They’re the most underrated Star Wars species. Soon, I will do more concise and thought out posts about them, but today I’m just gonna gush over them. They deserve it.
A fun thing about the Sith species is that in their language, they refer to themselves as “Tsis”. The word “Sith” actually means “best, superior”, etc.
They’re warriors (likely due to circumstance because Korriban isn’t a flourishing planet full of natural resources. It’s fight or die). So what likely happened is when they approached bitches for the first time, they were like “yeah, bitch, we the best bitches around”. And the galaxy came to know them as that. They’re Sith. They’re the best, and they’re gonna let you know.
To me, that’s dope as hell.
Speaking solely on the early Ancient Sith (pre-Jedi Exiles and pre Adas planetary unification), it seems like the Sith were a very communal species. They had groups called Circles, and those Circles warred with other Circles.
These weren’t just people who hated everyone and always betrayed everyone. These were people on a desolate planet who relied on others within their Circle for protection and community. Sure, they had feuds with other Circles but that’s life and only normal Maybe that got corrupted by the Jedi Exiles, but it existed.
It also puts the hierarchical dynamic of the Sith Order into a new perspective. Circles were led by a sorcerer. The sorcerers job was to lead and protect their Circle. It makes sense that on a planet where resources are few, and the stakes so high, that people have to stay in line, and listen to the Circle leader.
There’re families involved and one slip up can cause an entire bloodline to potentially all die out.
Whenever you read stuff with the Ancient Sith, or the Red Sith, they’re always like “damn, the fuck we gonna do as a species?”. They’re always looking out for each other and trying to get their species more powerful. I honestly don’t see how that’s a bad thing, if anything that’s sign of their loyalty to one another.
Yeah, they may fight amongst each other but when it’s go time, they unify and they ready.
You gotta understand that history had shown the Sith species that no one cares about them but them. No one will help them but them. It only makes sense for them to live life with this mindset.
This is the planet they originally came from. A desolate, sandy wasteland. Not a flourishing, intergalactically connected planet like Naboo or Alderaan. They came from Tatooine but set on Dark Souls new game+++++ level of difficulty.
The Republic didn’t even know this species existed. Up until the Jedi Exiles occupied their planet which is a conversation for another time this was a species with no galaxy wide connections, no resources, and no one but each other. They were isolated and used to life on a brutal environment. They weren’t poor, the Sith had a lot of resources, every time you see a one they have maxed out swag. They fight each other with the most drip you ever seen.
A lot of people just assume the Sith were these bloodthirsty monsters when they were real muhfuckers who gave a fuck about each other enough to go to war about it. That’s real to me. None of this “no violence to solve problems” nonsense. If you take out one of them, they gonna take out one of you. And to me, that’s why they’re the best. They were loyal to their family/Circle. If you weren’t with them, you better get out the way or get stepped on. That’s real love in my eyes.
Rip the Ancient Sith, I love them and I miss them. The Sith Order trying but they not like them.
