didn't feel like finishing it so I just threw some cool effects on it and called it a day!!!

If grabbing only what I can means whatever I can cram into a backpack or grocery bag at least, I'd definitely grab my copies of K-PAX, An Essay Concerning Human Understanding, my collected edition of Robert E. Howard's Conan stories, my copy of Joe Abercrombie's The Heroes -- just as many books as I could fit, and maybe a few cans of carrots and beans as an afterthought. Oh! My Game Boy Advance bag, with the solar charger! If I could I'd try to grab that also. 

If that's not possible, I'd just grab the nearest book I saw and run out the door. I always carry a knife on me, and oftentimes a gun, and I keep a rifle and a "go bag" with emergency tools in my car, so I wouldn't have a terribly tough time roughing it. I also regularly practice minimalist camping, and I know how to fish, hunt, dress game, sterilize water and I understand what stuff nearby I can dig out of the dirt and eat versus what stuff would probably cause me a measure of unpleasantness. So, if a puma doesn't get me, I reckon I'd be alright in the bush. Physically, anyhow. Having only one book for the ensuing two week period might be difficult, that'd barely last me a day or two. And the shocking emotional trauma of leaving my library behind would take an indescribable toll. 

Oh! My music player and the solar bank. Nah, if I could grab the books, maybe if I meet another survivor we could trade books for music or something. Ah, well. Can't have it all, I reckon. But whenever could we really? Anyhow, if it all burns down, life out there doesn't scare me much. There are I times I wonder if I'd almost prefer it.
