I'm so glad someone else knows this band omg. Also that song is horrific??? My ears and brain are all crying
Like how the FUCK does that song exist on the same album as Love In The Time Of Human Papillomavirus. HOW????
Hello! I've been following you for a little while now, and I absolutely love your blog- my dream job is ornithology and bird research, so finding you was extremely inspiring. I do have a question though- I just finished my first year of university (going for wildlife) and I'm wondering if you had any tips for someone wanting to pursue ornithology in the future? Thanks! P.S. I hope you get your owl! :)
Well, you’re in the right place if you’re already pursuing a university-level wildlife degree! Your next step is to force your way into getting some solid field experience under your belt. This will help you in two ways: one, fieldwork experience gets you more fieldwork experience-- that is, every job that you work will open the door to numerous more jobs. It will also tell your future employer/grad school committees that you know what you’re doing and that you’re capable of pursuing your goals!
This is both the most exciting and the toughest part of your career. When you’re starting out, you don’t have much experience to bring to the table. I recommend figuring out which of your professors are actively doing research you’re interested in, and asking if they have any assistant or technician positions available-- these may be paid or unpaid, or you might get academic credit for them. The easiest way into a first bird job is to work the connections with people you know. So, a professor whose class you enjoyed is always a good bet-- or maybe you’re involved with a local bird club, and you can see if there’s a migration banding station somewhere nearby you can volunteer!
In the early phase, the biggest thing is to keep your hopes up and your standards low (sad, but true). It’s very rare (though not unheard of) to land a paid bird job early on. As always, keep an eye on job listing boards (Ornithology Exchange and TAMUWildlife are my favorites).
Sorry this took SO long to respond to! I’m really bad at this stuff. I hope you have a great time building your career!
Turquoise, indigo, cotton candy and champagne! :D
Turquoise (what’s your favorite art work): that is such a tough question OMG. I really dig most of Van Gogh’s stuff. But starry night, or the sunflower one, are my personal favorites.Â
Indigo (first pet): An akita named Dakota. He died of mouth cancer when i was 12 :/
Cotton Candy (favorite tv show): Take a wild guess ;p (steven universe, lol)
Champagne(least favorite fandom): I really try not to hate, but I really don’t like Beliebers (if that counts as a fandom)
Thanks for asking! People who send me asks are literally my favorite people. I love talking about myself :D
Top five books! :D
[hi i love your icon]
Order of the Phoenix
Blink
Flowers for Algernon
A Child Called It
Perks of Being a Wallflower

So I FINALLY got around to making a little walkthrough/tutorial thing on how I paint my stuff-
this is by no means an exact way to do things, a good artist should use lots of different resources and different styles :D This is just the horrifically derpy wierd way I do stuff yaaaayÂ
PLEASE feel free to ask if something is unclear, if you have any questions, or have ideas for another tutorial :DÂ
thanks for reading!Â
Also sorry to my tumblr people having to scroll through all of this because I'm too lazy to change the formatÂ
