To clarify, I'm a librarian of 7 years in SC and we do often prioritize candidates with experience with teaching. Especially if you want to get into a assistant position, you may be expected to run programs for library patrons which is surprisingly similar :) Either way it's a competitive field, so any way you can beef up your resume helps you stand out against other candidates. Thamk you 😊 and you have a point but its a course specifically to certify ppl to be substitute teachers in NC n not particularly useful for library staff in particular, HOWEVER 👆 if I land the substitute teacher job, it'll be easier to land the library job later on because it tends to be easier to get jobs when you already have a job. Which is dumb that it works like that but whatever

yeah! I've listened to the first three audios now (the harvest, dreamtime, live 34)! dreamtime is my favorite
it's not my main focus so I'm not sure exactly when I'll continue, but I wanted to go ahead and at least meet Hex because I may never get that far on The Great Chronological Completionist 80s Doctor Endeavor (at the current rate if I ever get to seven at all it'll be a miracle) and I've heard good things about him! (well actually I heard The Veiled Leopard first and I fell in love with Hex and Ace's dynamic there)

A pediatric office worker (dunno if she's a nurse or doctor or tech but she's got scrubs with Disney and Pixar characters all over them) just came into the lab where I'm waiting for blood work. There is a very small person here. Like, eighteen months small. Maybe two. The scrubs wearing adult told the child, who is wearing a toy story shirt, that they match.
Together they both started looking for all the characters on the child's shirt, trying to find them on the scrub shirt.
The scrub wearer is now the former scrub wearer, because she took off the scrub shirt layer to lay it on the floor so they could both see better. The child has offered to take her shirt off as well, but hasn't got the coordination to manage it.
Half the waiting room is now peripherally participating in this game of I spy

Am I losing it or something? Why do people say they don't want to be somewhere and stay anyways? Are they toughing it out or exaggerating?
Like when we go to parties where the vibe isn't for me, every second feels miserable and I want to leave ASAP but then when my friends say they're also not enjoying it they somehow end up staying for hours anyways?
I have learned to not get my hopes up to leave when they say stuff like that, because it's like they don't mean it and then I have to psyche myself up again to get through the experience for longer.

Does it come across as flirting or a normal joke if I pick a flower in a small group setting and he’s like “For me?” so I throw it to him and he drops his phone trying to catch, but doesn’t pick up the flower after from where it fell behind him? I assumed that was our normal joking, but now I’m questioning it cause I don’t know how other people perceive. I just picked another one after for myself and moved on until our next joke. Like we usually have a platonic banter dynamic but now I don’t know if that looked weird since it was a flower..?
