As soon as the news reached Lamia Scale, he was gone: Out the guild doors, down the streets of Zinnia, and towards the nearest train station. The three other members of his team stumbling behind him in frantic efforts to keep up with their unofficially named leader’s pace. They were all there at the time the news was delivered and they all were stunned, but not nearly as must as ice make mage Lyon Vastia. Tenrou Island, which was the base for Fairy Tail’s S-class exam, was attacked by the dragon Acnologia. The entire situation sounded like something from a story, something that just didn’t sound possible and yet- it happened. And the pure look of dread that was on Master Babasaama’s face told all- it was no lie at all.
Lyon was on the next train to Magnolia after dismissing his team that this was something he needed to check out on his own. Lyon needed to see if what his master told him was true: That there really was no trace of them left, that they were gone- that Gray was gone.
The entire train ride was spent drumming his finger on his arms, leg, the windowsill- really anything he could reach. He needed a distraction; something to focus on other than the growing fear and dread that was creeping up in his chest. Lyon’s mind was in such disarray that it wasn’t until he had to get off that he even noticed the entire compartment was nearly frozen solid.
After hours that felt more like days, Lyon finally reached the Fairy Tail guild hall and just by standing outside the building Lyon could feel the negative energy rolling off from every section of the building. It was unnerving and made the hairs on the back of his neck stand on end. Pushing his feelings away, Lyon stepped forwards and swung open the door. The bang it made echoed in the empty building and gave the place an even eerier feel. Inside, Lyon could see the mages that weren’t part of the exams, but he didn’t see any sign of the one person he was hopped and wished was there.
“I demand that someone tells me what happened exactly. I want to know everything and I won’t leave until I get answers.” Lyon demanded as he stomped into the main hall, the doors closing behind him. People looked at him with solemn faces, but gave no response to him. Some others seem angered by his sudden outburst, but Lyon could care less about that. “I want to know what happened to Gray and the rest of that team now.”
