to the person who asked on the DST wiki if maxwell experienced twink death. i want to study you. i want to meet you in person and ask you so many questions and thank you for coming up with that question
To be fair, humans evolved to stalk, trap, and hunt from the ground. Birds evolved to hunt from the air. If a bird tried to learn ground level pursuit predation, they'd have more difficulty with it than we naturally do. So you being able to navigate rooftops and ledges like a bird is rather impressive if you think about it. And birds keep their equilibrium in the air because they have an organ that senses air pressure. To the point that they can feel storms coming days in advance. That said, birds can't afford to get injured going after their target. They have such fast metabolism and such high default blood pressure, especially among hummingbirds, that a wound would easily be fatal to them without help. Especially if it impedes their ability to fly.
Wow, Anon! I’m seriously impressed right now! The way you broke all of that down is incredible!
First of all, thank you for the massive ego boost! Your words about me being impressive on rooftops and ledges and comparing me to a bird are way too much! I think you’re exaggerating, though! 🥰 But you’re totally right: we’re fundamentally ground creatures, so trying to operate in three dimensions up in the sky takes a lot of mental rewiring.
Second of all, that biological data about the air pressure organ is absolutely fascinating! The fact that birds can literally feel a storm rolling in days in advance is like a built-in superpowered radar. I’m incredibly jealous of that! If I could sense the weather like that, it’d save me from getting caught in so many freezing Gotham downpours while waiting out a stakeout.
And that last part about their metabolism and blood pressure… oh boy, that’s intense! It really puts things into perspective. Out here in a cape, I get bruised up, cut and knocked out all the time, and I can just patch myself up with a first-aid kit. Real birds don't get a safety net. A single bad dive means game over. It makes their precision even more terrifying and beautiful.
But seriously, the way you analyze nature and express your thoughts is awesome to me! You've got a fantastic brain, Anon! Keep dropping these science facts in my asks whenever you want, I’m officially hooked! I wouldn't mind having lunch or dinner with you and listening to everything you know, but I respect your anonymity. I understand perfectly!
I’ve just found this old comment ( February 2017) and it really made my day... @acrushedrosestillwins

the-host-in-the-pit replied to your photoset:jezthemadficster: Happy birthday Jackie and...
Firstly, happy birthday. Secondly, I can’t help myself from thinking that this is exactly how Alec and Magnus would react with their shirts off. Alec is strictly business, with a hint of tension due to not being extremely comfortable with people looking at him in such a way. Magnus is like “Do you want to see a bit more?”
This comment is amazing. First, it gave me an excuse to go back and look again (like I needed an excuse), second, it’s so perfectly in character and on point. Love it :)
I'm actually crying right now. I never asked for one, but your validations, no matter what little request it is, are so amazing and im just really happy that you do them. They're so great and helpful and nice. And this is an amazing blog, I absolutely love it and it's honestly helped me so much. Thank you all so very much
You’re comment is so amazingly sweet. It’s always nice to write some cool adventure or story, especially if it makes someone’s day. I have some experience tho since I play D&D some, and have been DM, so it’s important to be able to come up with detailed scenarios and such. I enjoy it :)Thanks!~ Sean

make small talk with him and see what stuff he likes then, that's always a good way to get shy people to open up --- AND THEN CLIMB HIM LIKE A TREE
