wag your monster tail for her. be cute
Are we all truly sick by shipping a 500 years old vampire with a woman that he met when she was merely 10 years old? I spend so much time thinking about this shit.
I really love alutegra and wish someone would write a similar dynamic in a fantasy romance novel… but I think the idea of a subservient/knight/right hand love interest isn’t popular at all which sucks. I’m bored of the current offerings!!
(i'm so sorry it took me this long to reply, anon!!!! 😭😭)
same here! alutegra was one of THEE ships of my adolescence (which says a lot about me, i guess lol). i absolutely love integra - honestly, what a great female character! especially if you consider the mangaka had only made hentai until he created hellsing... - and the pairing itself is so tailored to my taste is almost ridiculous lol. what i like about it is that alucard is both literally bound to serve integra and in awe of her. he admires her strength, her humanity; say what you want, but i think he'd willingly let her lead him to the end of the earth. this while he still remains monstrously strong and fearsome - he may be hot in an eerie, not-so-vaguely unsettling way, but he is a monster in all aspects.
it's such a great pairing, really - and i'd love for this sort of dynamic to be further explored and to feature more often in romantasy or paranormal romance or gothic stories or whatever. we have so many A Girl and Her Monster trope's different iterations around, but not so many where the female character is gnc, a total badass even with no special powers (her strength lies in being human!), and the "dominant one/master" in the relationship. it's a refreshing perspective on gothic het romance, and it'd be great to see it more around, to be sure.
thanks for the ask, anon ❤️ (and again, sorry for being so late in writing a decent reply!!!)
waited long enough heheh

It's like you people can't conceptualize anything besides nuclear family in your heads. That's how groomed and brainwashed and molded you are
Alu: I encountered my first vampires when I was young.
Tegra: And who're they?
Alu: The Hunyadi family.
