What is this tiny fellow I found on some evil, evil knotweed? Located in CT.
Beetle ID - CT, USA:
This is definitely a Metallic Flea Beetle (Altica sp.), family Chrysomelidae, but I am unsure of the species. Many of them are visually very similar.
I'm not sure if you have any wild or domestic grapes growing nearby, but it looks very much like the Grape Flea Beetle (A. chalybea), which does occur in your area.

Unknown Flea Beetles, 3 individuals (genus Altica).
I think this guy might be Chrysochus cobaltinus, although that pretty plant is not their preferred food. They eat milkweed and dogbane, both of which contain a chemical that our little friend uses to ward off predators (they themselves are immune). Otherwise possibly an altica (flea beetle) of some some kind? Can anyone with a coleoptera hyperfixation help me out here?

Bug of the Day
I found this cool, purplish little guy on the underside of a Virginia creeper leaf. I believe it is a Grape Flea Beetle (Altica chalybea). From July 2017.
