Am I the only one who prefers ‘Alterhuman’ over ‘Therian’? Absolutely NO HATE to those that use that label, I just feel like it’s not really.. me? Even though I technically ‘qualify’ as a Therian. (Canadian lynx, I believe, still figuring it out)

ANOTHER FLAG DUMP! (Don't feel like spacing posts out because there are too many.)
Notagender, avienby / bird nonbinary, moon genderfluid, Gary Barkovitch perspesque, moon bi (×2), strawberry perspesque (×4), flags below.
When I first discovered them, I used to yearn so badly for my past lives and what I had. However over time I've learned that focusing on the here and now is enough. It used to be that I didn't really discuss past lives because it brought me pain, but now I just don't because it's not necessary. I am not human now, so I don't need to associate myself with human squabbles. Of course, I am forced to function in their society, which I do and which sucks, and I have my stances and such, but ultimately I don't care about human discourse. Well, unless you count environmentalism. I'm always here for nature.
I saw an excellent reply on my post about labels from this blog that mentioned how the need to label everything and put things into perfect boxes is a need that is inherently human, and one that isn't needed for the nonhuman. I completely agree. I have found that yearning too much distracts me from myself and what I need and want, so I learned to let it go and stop labeling experiences perfectly. It's true that I make labels for those who want them, and I use labels for my experiences for humans to understand, but I just don't need them.
As long as I'm here, for however long that may be, that will always be the case. I exist, I think, for the purpose of helping with environmentalist causes — well, that and to love my boyfriend, who is a human. Those are not my sole purposes, because I think I am also here to enjoy life, even if it's awful and really hard to do with my mental illness. I wish there were more good humans out there like my boyfriend. I don't see many. It's too often that I see humans who are too concerned with each other, even if their actions or interests or identities are totally innocent. Strict use of labels contributes to that, at least I think so. I don't want to be them. I want to be me.
does anyone have a big list of just nonhuman/alter human labels? I'm questioning a part of my self and I know I don't need a label that's already existing or to have one at all but it would be nice to look through!!
thank you <3
label ranking time!! (ib @/frosted-shadowss)
alterhuman: 7/10
its accurate, i am not quite human, but it feels like a community term more than a me term.
nonhuman: 10/10
this is me!!!! i am NOT human, im a critter! this is my favorite label overall.
inhuman: 4/10
its okay, but feels like an insult more than anything.
human: 1/10
im not, but i understand that im percieved as such. ive gotten used to it but it doesnt feel good
otherkin: 8/10
this is also a good label! i identify with otherkin more than any other label.
therian: 5/10
i mean i guess? but not really. i am foxkin, not a fox therian. im not sure why the distinction is so important to me, but calling myself a therian just feels incorrect.
otherhearted: 9/10
this is me! i have multiple hearttypes. i feel like being otherhearted isnt talked about much in the alterhuman community, so referring to myself as such feels good!
fox/ocelot/etc: 7/10
its nice, but i prefer being called [type]kin. i am a fox, and i am an ocelot, but i heavily prefer being called -kin.
beast/critter/animal: 10/10
this is VERY good! i especially like the term critter. i am just a small critter skittering about... /silly
