it   was   supposed   to   have   just   been   him   in   the   forest   ⸻   why   was   there   another?

𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐭   𝐥𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠   𝐚𝐧𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫   𝐬𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐝   𝐠𝐨   𝐭𝐨   𝐰𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞,   stanford   jerked   his   body   around   towards   sako   &   practically   pounced   on   him,   bringing   them   both   down   on   the   ground   with   a   heavy   thud.   using   his   weight,   the   scientist   pinned   the   man   for   as   long   as   he   would   be   capable   of   &   quickly   reached   for   his   pocket.   he   struggled   for   a   bit,   six-fingered   hand   finicking   around   like   a   fish   out   of   water,   before   he   found   what   he   had   been   searching   for:   a   miniature   flashlight.   

𝐢𝐧   𝐚   𝐝𝐞𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞   𝐚𝐜𝐭   𝐨𝐟   𝐭𝐫𝐲𝐢𝐧𝐠   𝐭𝐨   𝐬𝐞𝐞𝐤   𝐟𝐨𝐫   𝐚   𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐞   𝐨𝐟   𝐬𝐞𝐜𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐲,   stanford   flashed   the   light   into   sako’s   both   eyes.   any   sight   of   a   peculiar   yellow   tint   within   the   eyeballs   would   tell   him   the   man   had   been   compromised   &   was   led   here   for   some   malicious   intent.
