I for one will not be unhappy to see 2020 go. This has been an unprecedentedly horrible year for so many. For me it took a heavy toll on my already fragile mental health. 2020 began with my cat dying, she was 19 and we had grown up together. Then I was laid off from a company I’d worked for for 7 years. Through an email. At the end of the month. Which meant I lost my health insurance at the same time. In the middle of a pandemic. Then husband lost his job a month later. Then we lost his health care and discovered how much out of pocket health insurance costs, which is roughly a monthly mortgage payment. For health care! ••————————————————————•• There were bright spots. I became and Owlcrate Rep, which has been such a blessing! I got out of a toxic work environment. I discovered The Office and watched Hamilton when it dropped at 2am. We got Juniper, and since we were both stuck at home job hunting and avoiding coronavirus, we got to spend all day every day with her. We watched her grow right in front of us. I got a part time job where I can work from home and I was finally forced to apply to graduate school instead of just thinking about it. ••————————————————————•• I know 2021 isn’t going to be a magical new start but after spending 9 months in limbo I am so relieved to be moving on. So Happy New Year friends, I hope 2021 will be kinder to us all! 🥂 ••————————————————————•• #bookstack #bookspines #bookish #almostmidnight #rainbowrowell #maybethistime #kasiewest #beautifulbooks #winterbookstagram #yabooks #yalit #bookish #bookishlove #booklove #booklife #booksbooksbooks #newyearseve #newyears #readersofinstagram https://www.instagram.com/p/CJeZ7FTglZ9/?igshid=10n2pehipubs0
