hydra is a "lesser" pyrrhian allwing (a "greater" allwing being a combination of all 10 dragon species) and hellspawn, hydra's father, is an "almostwing" bc he is a combination of almost all seven pyrrhian dragon species (no seawing). they were part of a project to purposefully create an allwing animus by...dubious means, but hydra's mother broke them out when hydra hatched and hellspawn has been raising him on the run ever since. obligatory escaped evil scientist experiment ocs but they're my obligatory evil scientist experiment ocs <33
hydra has animus powers but they are not particularly useful and function based on his emotions more than anything else. he has a habit of using them entirely on accident in random bouts, which is fine and good when you get so happy upon seeing a cute little bee that you turn it into a little dragonbeast thing and befriend it, but becomes less good when you get too nervous and things around you begin to simultaneously explode. ummmm idk thats it mostly. their lore/story is less abt their origin more abt one very big mean red guy experiencing the world after living in a cave his whole life and learning its scary and dangerous but also beautiful and trying to give his beloved son the chance to experience it hell yeah
