For those who don’t know, the 2019 Tonys featured Ali Stroker winning Best Featured Actress as the first person in a wheelchair to do so. She was able to accept it on stage, but it was because she was waiting back stage for IF she won. There was no ramp, no elevator, nothing. She was not able to join her cast and crew up on stage when Oklahoma! Won for Best Revival.

They knew full fucking well in advance, yet they still didn’t accommodate for these distinguished people. Just makes you wanna fight.

It was directed by veteran Disney animator/director Hyrum Osmond. They also worked with a sign language reference choreographer (Catalene Sacchetti) and eight Deaf performers from Deaf West Theatre.

(Fun fact: Deaf West Theatre is also responsible for the show "Spring Awakening" which hired Ali Stroker in 2015 and officially made her the first ever wheelchair user on Broadway.)
