Another writing prompt result!
“Stop being so bloody patriotic and listen to me!” Alex was almost screaming as she shook Peggy by the shoulders. The two would have made a very strange sight had they been standing anywhere but Alex's Paris apartment. The blonde easily towered over the redheaded woman and clearly distressed by some admission or plan the other had admitted.
“Peggy, just shut up and listen to me for a minute. Nick's already run off on some suicide mission, I won't stand here and watch you leave like I watched him. I am not going through that again. If Peggy Carter is going to Germany then she's taking me with her” Alex's piercing blue eyes spoke of a betrayal more painful than she had words to express as she stared down at her companion, the woman she had grown to love over the past months since Nick had left her standing at the edge of the runway as he'd flown off into enemy territory, leaving her with the distinct and distressing feeling that she would never see him again.
“Please...” she finally whispered, the single word revealing more than she could ever say. The thought of losing the fierce little redhead in her arms without a fight was more than she could bear. The idea of allowing her to place herself in danger without being there to save her if things went wrong was more than Alex could bear. The Maquis fighter reduced to the brink of tears by simple words from the British intelligence agent. So this is how Captain Rogers had felt, Alex could understand it now, Peggy worked her way into your heart despite your best intentions and just like Steve Rogers, Aleksandra Black would cross oceans for Peggy Carter, all she would ever have to do is ask.
