Delsin (in the good path) admits to being a conduit in the beginning of the game. Augustine doesn’t believe him and is only concerned about what Hank could’ve told him while they were in the Cannery together, i.e conspiracies revolving the staging of his, Fetch’s and Eugene’s escape; her plot to generate fear to encourage people to support the D.U.P “Did he share anything with you?” “Share any of his ramblings about conspiracies?”
If any exchange of information was to occur between Hank and Del it would’ve taken place in the cannery when only Del (and maybe Betty) were present meaning only they could have possibly known about her plan.
Augustine literally attacks the entire tribe knowing that they don’t have the slightest clue about her conspiracy. How does someone become the head of a major organisation by behaving this way? (I’m sure if the Akomish reserve were to suddenly go quiet questions would be asked. If Delsin was believed to be powerless, how would the public react to a feared “bioterrorist” attacking and potentially killing dozens of people? Badly. Now consider this same “bioterrorist” and their paramilitary organisation moving in to occupy your city. An act like that would clearly destroy any support for the D.U.P. Had Augustine not considered this?)
Her behaviour is slightly more understable in the evil path as Delsin is tight lipped but, come on, she attacks everyone? And on a similar note, why does Reggie escape Augustine’s attack. You may argue it’s because of his connection to the law but do you really think he’d just stand their and let Augustine potentially murder his family? No.
I understand this was how Augustine was established as an evil character (Hey look, an asshole, go demolish their reign of power and beat em up!) but it just seems a bit over the top.
Thoughts About Thanksgiving
You know, I was thinking of writing a Thanksgiving Delgenetch fic because I was thinking about how the Trio would spend the holidays. Eugene would probably really like having people to spend the holiday with since he’s been in Curdan Cay for years. And even before that, I have a feeling that his mother wasn’t always the warmest person to be around; subsequently, his Thanksgivings before his powers emerged probably weren’t the greatest.
Fetch probably had really nice Thanksgivings. I always thought her parents really loved her and her brother, and we already know that Brent really loved Fetch. The Walker home probably had lots of food an fun family time. I don’t really think Thanksgiving was a thing in Curdan Cay. I know she probably spent at least one Thanksgiving one the streets before she got to Curdan, and all she had was Brent. Now, out of Curdan Cay, she doesn’t have Brent but she does have Delsin and Eugene to spend the holiday with. So, I assume that she would really be grateful to spend the holiday with, Like Eugene.
Then my thoughts fell onto Delsin. Before I caught myself, I assumed Delsin would probably have a big Thanksgiving dinner with the rest of the Akomish and of course he would invite Eugene and Fetch along. He would miss Reggie a lot, but at least he has Fetch and Eugene. But, then I thought to myself...
Would Delsin (and the rest of the Akomish) even celebrate Thanksgiving?
The holiday is about the Pilgrims and the Native Americans, and being thankful for what you have and all that stuff. But then I saw a lot of posts about the real Thanksgiving. MIC.Com gave a really...insightful article and what a few Native Americans think about the name “Christopher Columbus” and the word “Thanksgiving.” About Thanksgiving, some said they just about a time for family and food (while ignoring what the holiday really stands for), while others just outright dislike the holiday and think of it as a time of sadness. I thought the article really gave some important food for thought.
Anybody wanna give their opinion on this?
