Yes, that abandoned factory did appear in my dreams.
I would traipse through the snow, across miles of dark cold empty land save for the howling of the wind through the trees and the random radiation ticking of some buried machine.
Sometimes I'm Zori, glinting gold on her dark blue haori, blowing in the wind completely devoid of detail. Just a dark shape in the snow, continuing to walk who knows where.
Sometimes I was a random person, holding onto my shirt or hugging myself, with people or not. Lanterns or stick-lights or glowsticks or candles or not. There's the slightest glimpse of the inside of one of the buildings, so dark except for the orange glow from a friend's light.
Sometimes I'm me, limping through the snow. I am on call with someone, and in a determined clear voice so different from how I speak in real life, I call for you. Or for someone. I continue traipsing through the snow, never knowing what clothes I'm wearing or what exact kind of light source is in my hand.
I stand still looking at a small campsite and a military tank hidden in the trees.
I stand still with a soup can next to a lantern in the snow.
I run with other people, away from some monster down the snowy puddles peppering the old black road in the very center of the entire place.
Complexes. Forests. Broken metal and torn fences
Dark gray under the sunless overcast Russian sky
A place I didn't know was Russian, was a forgotten Roblox game buried by Roblox itself trying to drown old players in ridiculous devastation.
Now that I've visited it,
with the one I love the most,
I can safely say I see others playing too. It wasn't forgotten. It was revived. There are small glinting lights through the snow and the trees and the broken facilities.
I am fully awake as I explored this place, getting deja vu, feeling like I was really there even though the avatar I was playing as was nothing like me.
I just hope the ghosts are happy someone says hello
