The idea is that you are a pro-hero and Denki is doing a work-study under you. One day you two get trapped in a bad situation (kidnapping, forced to stay in hiding, etc) that keeps the two of you in close proximity. Because of the stress of the situation, Denki is worried and you do your best to soothe him. And then oops, you two accidentally imprinted on each other and now you two have to navigate your new bond.
Imprinting: Where two or more people form a bond due to a combination of high emotions and physical proximity. Usually happens with parents and their children, especially newborns.
Thoughts on the Victorian Fairy Tale Video from Anni 3.5
I thought the Victorian Fairy Tale video from Anni 3.5 was incredible. Great art, interesting story and the implications are fascinating. HG definitely looked at the reception that the Lethanian video got and went, āoh yeah they liked that, letās do moreā. But what does that video mean and more importantly, what does it mean for Reed?

As always, all thoughts are just speculation on my behalf.
First, the actual video in question:
Itās told in the form of a fairy tale. The storyteller introduces it as a story of Victoria from a long time ago. But itās not just the story of Victoria. Itās also the story of Tara.
So hereās how I see it. The little girl is the representation of the original Ancients who lived in the region now known as Victoria while the Dracos are the Elders who ruled the land.
Quick run down, for those who donāt know, there are the humans of Terra are split into two category of races; the Elders and the Ancients. The Elders appear to all take after mythical creatures and/or creatures of Folklore. Known examples include the Hippogryphes of Ursus and the Pegasi of Kazimeriz. I strongly suspect that the Lung of Yan and the Dracos of Victoria are also Elder races.
The Ancient races are the more common ones; IE Felines, Perro, Liberi, Caprinae, etc. (Side Note: given what was revealed in Chapter 11, I think the Sarkaz probably are closer to Elders than they are to Ancients. Itās also possible they are a third category all together as the Vampire King says the Sarkaz were once known as the Tikaz but thatās a different post.)
Anyway. ..
Given that the Elders once more or less ruled over the Ancients at some point in the distant past (the Ursuses overthrew the Hippogryphes as a result of the Nightmorza invasion and eventually the Kurantas just bought up the noble titles and land of their pegasii masters), it wouldnāt be a stretch to think that the little girl is the original race of Ancients (felines?) that came in contact with the Dracos.
Obviously at some point, according to the story, one member of the Draco family was crowned King of Victoria while the other left to found Tara. Of course, given that the story is told from the POV of a Tara loyalist, Tara is the perfect land and the other Draco grew jealous and came to invade Tara. (The Anglo-Norman invasion of Ireland anyone?)
Of course war is never pleasant and war creates refugees. Itās highly likely that a number of ānoblesā under the rule of the Dracos fled Victoria and eventually made their way to Sargon where they encountered the Aslans. Clearly by taking in these refugees, the Aslans eventually thought this would give them a claim to the Victorian throne. So they marched from Sargon to Victoria, fought with the Draco King and in the end..
According to Siege (11-12), the Aslan Padishah met the Draco King on the battlefield and the fire of the Draco King melted the Aslan Padishahās armor but the Aslan was able to stab the Draco king with his sword. However, by the time he managed that, his sword was half melted. The Draco somehow saved the Aslanās life but in exchange, the Aslan lost his right hand. The sword was eventually recast and became the Breath of Kings, the legendary sword of Victoria (aka Excalibur.)
To get to the Breath of Kings resting place, they needed a key. Both the Aslans and the Dracos had one but Verna states that she was never given the key and itās quite possibly lost. However, the Draco key is... none other than the reliquary of Edward Artorius. Weāll come back to THIS little point later.
Back to the story though. Obviously whoever is raising Elbana and Loughshinny (aka Reed!Sis and Reed) is telling them this story to cast them as descendants of the āGoodā dragon who will come in and save not just Tara but all of Victoria. But we know these storytellers are unreliable narrators and thereās Talulah in the mix now.
Now the storyteller directs his question to Reed in specific, but I suspect this is less a āloreā thing and more just a flourish from HG saying āHey this is a Reed Event!ā
But given all that, given the allegory of a greedy dragon who was once crowned king and invaded Tara versus the brave dragon who not only defended their beloved Tara but also fought the Aslans over Victoria (the girl). Which one is which? Was Reedās family the Dracos who went into exile and hid in Tara while their brethren ruled Victoria? Clearly Edward Artorius was part of the royal line and therefore Talulah is also an heir to the throne. When did he flee to Lungman? When was he killed in relation to when the last of the Dracos disappeared from public eye. Was Edward Artorius himself the heir to the throne and he left for Lungman to avoid whatever political machinations that lead to the disappearances of the Dracos (and the subsequent assassination of Reedās parents)?
If so, then Talulah has a truer claim to the Victorian throne than both Elbana AND Loughshinny. But as a Taran Draco, Iām not sure Elbana will simply let this outsider leading an army of infected simply take the throne from her.
Which leads me to the prophecy mentioned at the start of chapter 10.
The Cyclops sends a letter. As ever, she describes a tragic sceneāLondinium sundered by great fire into thirds, The Shard fallen under lightning strikes in their hundreds, and the Regent... yes, she still prophesies your end, Regent.
I am almost positive at this point that the three fires are the three dracos who will suddenly be in play in Victoria. Elbana is one. Talulah is the second and Reed will be the third. We know that Elbana is backed by the Duke of Wellington according to the end of Chapter 11 and the Duke himself carries so much prestige that the other anti-Regent Dukes are afraid to act without his say so.
Talulah is backed by Nines, who wants to re-ignite the failed Reunion rebellion in Victoria.
And that leaves... Reed. I strongly suspect that once Theresis is put down and the remaining members of the Royal Court leaves for Kazdel, Vina will throw her weight behind Reed and with two legitimate heirs to the throne, work to turn Victoria into something of a modern republic. I donāt think Vina wants the throne. After she gets the sword (and paid a high price for it), she asks Gawain what will happen if she chooses to one day not walk the path he laid out for her. Reed definitely doesnāt want the throne either. But I donāt think Vina nor Reed can just leave Victoria to burn between Talulah and Elbana.
So where do we go from here? Where does RI go? Does RI simply leave Victoria to the tender mercies of the warring Dukes and Reunion? Or will they join the fight when Reunion 2.0 shows up trying to claim the Victorian throne?
To me something feels so...wrong about Buckyās therapy
Nothing about his amends seems to be focused on helpingĀ himĀ feeling better.Ā The amends that he reports back to his therapist (catching the HYDRA politician) isnāt about him finding closure.Ā It just seems to be the government using him to do their bidding, to catch their criminals.
His therapist mentions nothing about apologizing to people for what heās done...you know, how making amends usually works?Ā (Bucky didnāt bring up the old man during therapy, which makes me think that he might be doing that one on his own.)
I need to see more to really decide what I think about it, but right now it just feels so...gross.Ā Like the government is trying to take advantage of Bucky the same way everybody else did, but putting a prettier label on it
iām actually feeling pretty good about our boys after tonight. thoughts under the cut for spoilers!
iām not feeling negative about how adrian left. i still think we have hope for our boys. i mean look at what they came back from in season one. the last interaction we had of them back then was adrian telling him point blank you canāt make me feel something i donāt which we know wasnāt true. he felt it even then. after all, we had canon confirmation tonight that heād loved deran since they were kids.
it also showed us that adrian has a history of distancing with these emotional lines. tonight, we got the same thing (youāre the worst thing that ever happened to me).
but sarah, he left without deran! deran chose his family over adrian! its exactly what pearce said at the beginning of the season (do you really think deran would choose you over all of this? or whatever the line was - too lazy to pull the videos right now).
yes, i can see how that looks kind of bad, but my dudes, we have at least a full season after this. we have a season for them to grow back together, which is what they are good at doing. was i screaming at the tv for deran to go after him? yes. but do i think they wrote themselves into a narrative hole that they canāt get out of? no way. i can see like five other paths out of this particular hole and if i can see it, i have faith that the professionals who have thus far written this b e a u t i f u l love story can do the same thing.
deran and adrian are the heart of this show. they are the emotional center. yes, we have craig and renn, but theyāve never been stable and i hold my breath every single time craig goes home expecting nick and renn to be gone and face it, its probably gonna happen. historically speaking, its what renn does. there will be a note saying sheās gone to tasnimās. but thatās for another time. deran and adrian are the emotional core. thereās no denying it. in terms of relationship arc, weāve had a beautiful one and this wasnāt an ending.
this was them standing outside of the bar, deran begging that he just wanted them to be alright. this was deran sacrificing his happiness for adrianās safety but not able to sacrifice his family after finding out pope knew about adrian talking to the cops and didnāt do anything, after craig stood there and looked him in the eyes and said he needed him. while deran and adrian are the emotional core, the relationships between the brothers are the pillars of this show. he couldnāt leave his pillars, even for his heart.
adrian left, but heāll be back. nothing was said that they canāt come back from. youāre the worst thing that ever happened to me is literally on par with you canāt make me feel something i donāt and i just - i refuse to be a negative nancy over something that will come back.
and yāknow if this time next year iām wrong? catch me putting on my clown makeup. got enough of it.
but i also have a lot of hope and faith in the story theyāve been telling with these boys as theyāve moved from toxic to healthy to scared men trying to find their way out of a desperate situation.
this isnāt the end, my dudes.
