secondly: its ughdjhd. we would only see from jason's perspective. we'd see flashes of insecurity from leo and we might suspect piper is hiding something, but having them verbally tell jason what they're hiding is so interesting. leo *would* be like "ugjh im a monster im cursed *im not okay plays softly in the distance*" but for the reader it would be the first confirmation of 1) his fire and 2) how deep his issues go. if we wanted to see the extent of leos problems leo would have to tell jason. verbal confirmation of what and how leo feels.

piper almost-betrayal would hit hard too. we'd see how jason rallies against following your emotions, while piper embraces it, almost giving jason and leo up for her father. piper, who is emotional, would be an interesting foil for jason's logistical roman approach, and we could see the extent as to how deep the roman training goes and how formidable a child of aphrodite could be. it would also hark back to percy, who would also do anything for his mortal parent and whos entire first quest circled around her. also also, jason and leo would drift closer in a kind of 'what the hell is a loving parent havent had one in years ha ha' way.

all in all, hoo should have been a first person narrative from jason, while we only saw leo and piper from an outsiders pov, which would force them to communicate more. thank you for bringing this idea to life 💞💞💞
